Okay...so, my mom and brother have their hearts set on getting me to next year's Evo tourney. I was wondering if there was some slim chance that there was anyone around who knew some things about it and wouldn't mind sharing.

I got nothing. = I've never been, and don't know much about it anyway. Icege is the person I usually hear Evo stuff from.

Anything pertaining to the tournament period. The date, place, games that'll be played, rules for those games, etc. Anything at all would be of help. smile

Thanks a ton, man. Are you planning on going to any of the Evo tourneys next year? Knowing the way things'll turn out more than likely, I'll probably only be able to hit the Evo closest by, if even that, but it'd be cool to be able to play some others, yourself included.
My friends here are getting better, but it doesn't help any of us fighting one another constantly, because we're only learning each other's playstyles. neutral

I'd like to go to Evo, but whether or not I can is the issue.
Ya'll are in Arkansas? Look towards saving up and attending a couple of Texas tournaments. Go to the appropriate boards and look for tournament dates and post in regional threads to find people at least in your state. Be willing to cough up money to travel.

Here's something out of left field for everyone: I might be going to EVO along with Kei, if everything goes juuuuuuuust right. biggrin Icege, if you were able to make it, it would be some kind of honor seeing you in person.

As of now, my going to Evo2k7 will depend on several things
1) Finances (obviously) 2) Time (if the restaurant will let me out) 3) Tekken 6 and my competence in it
I might just go to hang out. I don't really attend tournaments too often anymore since I've got too much stuff going on. I'd really like to go though.
I'll definitely be at Final Round in Atlanta during the month of March. There's going to be big names there, and if you could get there, it would be a very, very valuable learning experience.

I can imagine. I've seen a couple of vids from tournies, and from what I can tell, I'd have to actually play these peeps for a bit if I had the chance before I could do much, if anything.
Some of them are so random, while others are not only that, but quick to catch and punish mistakes, not to mention the fact that you can watch most of these people play and tell that they have a deep understanding of the game on the whole, and while I'm no slouch, it'd take more than a little getting used to.

I would get clobbered up and down, simple as that. xd
I wouldn't really care, though, so long as the match is fun and teaches me something.
