"Yeah," Jini confirmed and sat down on the ground in a stiff position, making sure that she was ready for anything. Yes, there wouldn't be any surprising her.
She twisted her head this way and that and strained her eyes as far as they could see, eager to find something that might help prove her case. Alas, though, for there was only the little wateringhole and miles and miles of grassland.
"Dare me to do something," she challenged and swished her tail from side to side, watching him closely, "and I'll do it."

"Dare you to go swimmin'." Sairing grinned. Who knew if she liked water? Though he liked it. Nice and muddy, preferably. And he was there if something happened.
"Or are you CHICKEN?"

"I ain't any chicken," Jini frowned and, fully intent on going through with this dare, marched straight for the water.
At that moment, the unfriendly breeze from before swept passed and caught the poor cub off guard. Startled, she nearly stumbled face first into the wateringhole. Fortunately, she'd managed to catch herself in time.
Jini stood ankle deep in the water, fighting off the urge to shiver. It was a chilly day. The water wasn't any exception.
"I dare you to come with me!"
She wasn't going to be the only one getting sick after this.
Mud and water may have been her idea of a good time. The cold most definately was not.

Cold or not, Sairin's pride was at stake as she followed the younger cub into the water, then grimaced. Cold was nasty, so he was best getting both of them to shore soon. Shaking himself, he plodded for the deeper end. Woo, nice and deep!.... Now how to swim?
Sairin's head was the only thing above water at this point, so there was no turning back.

Jini was glad to have him there as a guide. Somehow, the fact that Sairin could wade into the deeper water without anything horrible happening made the cub feel like she could do it too, and, naturally, experience the same results.
The little female gasped when she plunged the rest of her body into the cool water. She shivered from the cold and worked to stay warm, paddling her little feet in the way that she guessed would keep her head above water. It worked. Although, she looked more like a confused turkey than a graceful swan.
Puffing from the effort of keeping her head above water, Jini hurried to catch up with the older male. There was no way she was going to let some boy -no matter how much bigger or stronger he was- show her up.
She was steadily growing weaker and her wiser side warned that she couldn't keep this up very much longer, for she was far too little. Jini paid no attention.

Sairin shivered a bit, then glanced over towards Jini, watching her paddle. So THAT was how it was done?
The juvenile lifted all four paws from the ground then, and began to flail, eventually sloshing until he found a good paddling stroke, more efficiency than grace, and swam over.
"Showoff!"

"I guess I am," She declared breathlessly and continued to paddle, fighting to keep her nose above water. The cub hadn't thought that she'd been showing off until the older boy had pointed it out.
Tired, Jini slowly began to swim her way back to shallower waters. She went as swiftly as she could (because going fast made her look like she wasn't exhausted) and swallowed more water than the amount of air that she breathed.
Finally, spluttering, she wandered out of the water. She was breathing hard.
"It's too cold," she whispered, trying to save face. He didn't need to see how tired she was.

After a minute, Sairin followed Jini's example., shaking himself and shivering as he nodded.
"Way too cold. I want warmth now." He stated, bluntly.

It was a few moments before another huge gust of wind sped past the pair of them and ruffled their damp fur. Jini shivered. At least in the water, they'd been sheltered from the air.
"So do I," she announced loudly, teeth chattering together unpleasantly. It was a horrible sound. The cub faught to keep them still.
"Where should we go?"
Of course, she was coming along too.

"Probably someplace grassier?" And Sairin padded towards the grasses, tail switching in a manner beckoning Jini to follow.

Jini blinked in surprise at the simplicity of the conclusion and then mentally smacked herself for not thinking of it earlier. The watering hole was wide open and free of any decent shelter. It made sense to try and warm up in the tall grass, where the wind would have a harder time reaching her.
They were some advantages to being small, she decided and raced to catch up with Sairin. Her short legs couldn't really keep up with his longer ones. Obviously, there were quite a few disadvantages to being smaller, as well. Instead of complaining like she wanted to, Jini shuffled along beside him.
