"No!" The words were out before Maré could stop them. "We were trying to find someone who could help us link memories together and we didn't even think you were real because here you're only a game character and I didn't want to hurt anyone I just wanted to find out!" She had said all of that in one breath and she gasped in a little more air. Reviewing her words, she winced, hoping she'd indeed said most of that too fast for Naminé to dissect individual meanings- at least for a while.

"I...see," was all that the pale girl muttered. "Why" doesn't really matter, she's learned that long ago. Why people do things, why they choose the completely illogical. They want to, and that's what makes the difference; at least, that's what she thought she understood. Asking had never gotten her a straight answer. "If my help is what you need, then...it is not for me to argue. I will try."
Then the rest of that jumble of words started to make some literal sense.
"A game character? I don't understand; what do you mean by that?"

"Uhhhhh..." SO INTELLIGENT IS A MARE. "Uhm, well, you'll be staying down the hall, so you won't be too far from any others we might be- uhm, okay, whatever, Lori'll be back soon and she can fix it." It trailed off into a few notes to seemingly Mare herself. "And we can take you shopping for clothes later, okay?"

Namine stared at the blabbering woman accusingly. "You didn't answer my question," she pointed out, rather sharply compared to her usual demeanor. Then the sudden burst of irritation disappeared, dissolving as quickly as incense smoke in a hurricane. "but then...I suppose...that isn't important right now."
Shopping? No one ever bothered to take her out, anywhere. Whether it was out of fear that she would miraculously escape or that they don't care altogether (mostl likely, the latter) was never fully explained. Some of them occasionally brought back things for her, giving her at least a shaded window into the outside worlds.
Bottom line being, Namine doesn't exactly do well with crowds. Lack of experience, and all. "Um...sure. We'll go shopping." She managed to reply.
Conveniently, as Mare struggled between whether to get on with the subject or go on talking about something unrelated altogether, Lori strolled into the room. "Oh, those silly blokes down in sector C, they couldn't tell a thermometer from a pressure gauge! I swear, highschool kids with styofoam cups, a stove, and household cleaning products can do a better job than them...THEY WERE TEN DEGREES OFF, can you believe that!? And with the sample mass the way it was, the error margin was just rediculus. luckily it was only a test run for the equipment and not some major study..." she drifted off with her report of events to take in the two. "So, what now?"

"UhmyoutakehershoppingI'mgoingtogomakemyreportnowkthanksbye!" Mare made her escape, vanishing through the door with a near-supersonic boom. She really did not like that kind of negative atmosphere in her air. Once far enough away, she slowed from her run and went to the elevator lobby; she was going to go report in person, so she couldn't be discovered. Oooohhh, sneaky.

Lori chuckled in clear amusement at her friend's spazz-tastic spouts of strange behaviors. "Well, now that she's off doing whatever, shall we head for the mall, then? I'll need to get some groceries on the way, too. You don't mind taggin along, do you?"
"Yes...I mean...No...uhh...I don't mind coming along!" Namine quickly answered. She's not in any position to refuse; and this could turn out to be a far better end-up-not-knowing-where-the-heck-she-is than the last time.
