Thats nifty. We haven't figured out exactly what Front Ensemble is doing yet. But we know besides the main marimba players. (Because we need players to do four mallets) everyones swithing with aux and marimba/xylo/vibes/ you get my picture.
Im excited for WGI. I feel good that we will make it this year.

drumline started and ended this monday. xD We did a pep rally for our middle school, not all of our band went so we had a snare, quint, bass and three cymbals (pathetic!) we played pretty well but then then someone formulated the great idea to play a song we weren't supposed to so..... our teacher ended the season right when we got back to school, locked up the instruments- no more drumline. I feel like we did the pep rally in vain now, we had to wear our marching band uniforms they're so dorky.

We call our winter drumline the percussion ensemble. Ours starts either next week or the week after, I forget. We're really small right now, probably one person on each instrument that we intend to use and one or two people in auxillary percussion. Which would be about 8 people total if we don't recruit more people from the band.

......
We had 46 people show up for our first meeting. I'd say just about as many came back for our sectionals today.
So I guess that means 30 in battery, 16 in pit? We don't even have that many instruments.. ==
But yeah, the thing that really pisses me off is that the captionhead is treating pit like the reject group. I believe him when he says we're not second priority, but just the way he's acting and how he's always leaving pit as an afterthought.. <.< is really bugging me.

My Boss threatens people who can't march with pit, but thats about it. He definately likes having a strong front ensemble. Which works for me cause Its hard to work with kids that don't know the first thing about Mallet Percussion. But Yeah. Don't let it get to you. If you ever get into professional groups, you'll find that Front Ensemble is just as improtant (if not more important) than the Battery. Front Ensemble Rox the house!!!

We were suposed to but the drummers were dumb so we might or might not. I REALLY wanna do it but I don't think my bd wants anymore people that aren't in percussion now to join percussion.

See we have percussion Ensemble, they go to district and stuff, solo and well ensemble. And then theres Drumline. FI Velosity. Thats us. And ya! Go front ensemble.
We generally dont' have that problem. Because each of our sections has a captin and a staff member. One fore bass, front, snare, cymbles, ect. Our drum staff are 6 of the guys on the Jax Jaguars D-Line. Pretty sweet

Our winter percussion thingy started yesterday 'we just call it drumline'
but I'm so mad! I really want to do both drumline and guard during winter, but both the guard and drumline instructors said no because last year these two people tried doing both but they were really bad at both ;-;, and they were never at the right place at the right time.

Eh. I'm also worried about the attitude of the people in pit. We have the potential to be really good, but.. <.< There's a lot of.. tension overall. Not everyone gets along and it has the potential to affect our playing ability ><
btw My()DiSco()Blood()Bath, you have an awesome sig. I stared at it for a full minute just cracking up inside xD

I'm actually kind of worried about the Section Leader for the Pit I instruct and the Keyboard Player thats gonna audition for the Keyboard 1 part. My Understanding is that they hate each other and I was even told that my Section Leader would quit if The Keyboard girl made line. I'm worried about it but I'm not gonna tolerate attitudes in my Front Ensemble.
