In a little over a week, we have to go march in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade.

Discuss...
1. Ever done parades? (probably most of you have)
2. If so, any suggestions?
3. How was it?

Yah, I'm expecting it to be really cold.

You were in the Rose Parade? Cool! North was in it once, years and years ago...probably before I was born.

I've gone the Grand Floral Parade and Starlight Parade (Oregon stuffs).

My suggestion is that is you get sore while marching, take some Advil or something before you get into uniform or step off. By the time that you would begin to get sore (you will. And I only play Clarinet!), it will have kicked in, and the parade will be more enjoyable.

Advil.. that's a good idea. too bad my mom doesn't believe in medicine. (you should see all the weird looks I get from other girls when I tell them that.. like omg how do you live eek )

anyway, I'm the top-right corner person in our parade block, and for the past few years I've always been on the very right, so I don't really know what it's like to march in the middle.
But I'd say to just wahmbulance not wahmbulance look at the audience cuz it gets really distracting sweatdrop

Victoria Day Parade in Canananananananda. Well, in Victoria B.C. if you want to be picky about it.

Don't sweat it, usually.

Methinks I wound up on Television, because I was a guide and we marched right past the news cameras, and I'm pretty sure they were on. (Just don't smile... especially if your in the midst of the insanely high trumpet solo... Ehh.... mhmm...)

And hopefully you don't have the insane director who chooses songs that they've played in high school and college, which also has the utterly stupid solos in them. Like last year. Bleh. Director was all, "OMG! My boyfriend played this in high school! So you trumpets should be able to as well!!!!"

Well, we did. But you know... for who knows how many miles playing the SAME song over... and OVER again is kinda... well, frankly stupid.

And another thing... LAYERS! It's cold usually. And wet. Even though our parade was in the spring, it still rained. Bleh. And the fall is even worse.

Weeee.... just try not to split your lips in the middle of it. (Gah. No fun at all. Hurts like nothing else.)

I was sort of thinking of taking a pain reliever before the parade...and now I know to. Thankies.
