Sherida frowned as he said the number, repeating it. Then in a flash she remembered a picture of the house and remembered where it was. She nodded. "well, ok... Maybe I'll see you some they later.." she said with a smile, her hand on her wallet. She stepped out of the shop and walked away, then she turned. "owh, and thank you for keeping you're shop open" she said with a wink. Then she turned back and walked off quickly.
As soon as possible she turned a corner. Then she started running, repeating it. Out of the bag she got a pen and wrote down where the store was, and where they stocked it. Then she started running again, looking at her hand once and a while. The tenth district.. she thought as she rushed through the streets. wasn't there something with that? it was in the news...those stupid vampires again... well she might even see one.. she thought with a laugh

Sythian stiffened as Matsuko's hand grapsed her shoulder, pulling her back. She looked towards the other person. Ah, another vampire. What does the human want with us? I should have just gone home after work. Sythian regretted her decision further when the other hunter was sent off to a gun shop to learn to use a gun.
"A proposition eh? Well, let's hear it," she said looking towards the other vampire.
She rubbed her arms again and smiled, fully revealing her fangs. She didn't mean it in a threatening way, it just felt so much better to smile and not have to hide them anymore. She fiddled with a piece of cake wrapped in a napkin that she had stuck in her pocket before she left work. Pulling off a chunk, she popped it into her mouth and looked at Matsuko, waiting to see what she'd say. Her eyes had begun changing to a red when Matsuko layed her hand on Sythian's shoulder. They were now a vibrant red. A glint now graced her eyes.

The smile quickly vanished from her face as she saw others approaching her from the opposite end of the third alley way she had made her way into. Humans, she soon found out, using her eye to detect the heat that radiated from their bodies. Keeping her face calm and her pride in check, Kae'ri kept the hood of the sweater up over her head to conceal as much of the left side of her face as she could, letting some of her hair to fall down to aid in the camouflage. The sweater itself was worn under the leather jacket and was the same colour, carried for just this purpose. She gave a weak smile as she approached them, keeping her voice to herself as they moved silently passed; carrying the bag over her shoulder as casually as any other. Once through this alley way, she turned left down the almost barren street and let her eyes wander from the bleached pavement to the road ahead wondering how the people could stand to live like this. She couldn't stand to be below ground for so long and she yearned to wander among the surface of the past with the vibrant trees and lush fields and to be able to live the life that she once heard of when she was younger. How she longed to have a sea breeze blow across her face and ease all her pain, but she knew that this was never possible. That world had been destroyed by so many years of the selfish humans and selfish vampires that no one would be able to have such a dream and live it. She could feel the freshly spilt blood in the bottom of the backpack sloshing around and picked up the pace, not wanting to have to run into more vampires than she had to. Personally, she liked the creatures; she had been redesigned to be just like them, without their weakness to silver or certain light sources but especially not the lust that consumes the creatures. That would have caused her to rise up against those who recreated her and would have brought great pain and suffering on them. Instead, they wired her body to make it produce more energy than typical humans and guided the extra energy to the new circuits and metal components that now riddled the left side of her body. No longer feeling remorse for the creature that she had just desecrated, Kae'ri wandered quickly through the streets back to the seemingly ancient warehouse where she had been told to meet up with her current employer. He had said that if she did her job well enough, he would not only pay her more, but offer her another assignment and pass on her name to others who needed things to be settled under the table. After this was finished, she knew that she would have to go back to the gun shop and get more of her silver and some fresh ammo. She was in need of restocking her miniature armory that she had in her home and needed more than just guns.

((I just got back from vacation, so hopefully I won't have such long delays between posts anymore! sweatdrop ))
Vena's emerald green eyes narrowed. What on earth would a bounty hunter want with a pair of vampires, she thought to herself, Other than, of course, the price on their heads? Sythian's red eyes made it very obvious that she, too, was a vampire, but Vena wasn't sure why she had decided to trust Matsuko. Her glance flicked up and down the tunnel, reassuring herself that they were alone. Still, she didn't remove her hood or let any of her vampiric atributes show. I don't care how much this girl trusts that hunter, I don't feel like making myself a target.
Her sharp eyes fastened again on the bounty hunter. "And what," she asked calmly, her tone covering the fact that her hand had curled around her gun inside her sleeve, just in case, "Might that proposition be?"

((back from camp))
Sythian could sense the distaste that Vena had for Matsuko. She frowned. Though she couldn't understand why, she really wasn't flustered by the fact that a bounty hunter had a proposition for two vampires. If need be, the other vampire and I could team up and take this bounty hunter. She shifted her weight and drew her arms close to her chest. Rubbing her arms again for reassurance, she allowed a slight smile to creep slowly across her face.
She was becoming a little restless. All she really wanted to do was go home and catch a few "z's" before heading back to work. A sigh escaped from her mouth as she stopped fidgeting and looked at Matsuko again.

((Sorry for the long delay crying just got back from camp and I'll be leaving agian next tues for a week))
Matsuko's eyes shifted to both ends of the tunnel again to make sure that they were indeed alone. If this was overheard, she didnt want to think of the consequences. "I dont know how well informed the two of you are in human's politics," she began in a low voice. "but just to refresh your memory, everything is controlled by a council of six humans, three men and three women. And when I say everything, I mean everything. The army's movements, where tunnels are built and how the networks are run... vampire bounties." she added with a meaningful glance at them. "Things were running quite smoothly until about ten years ago which, you'll probably remember was when the human-vampire wars began to escalate past random skirmishes in the tunnels. The army began openly searching for vampires on the councils orders and the hunter guilds were also established. The council justified their actions by announcing that the vampires had tried to assassinate one of the council members, a woman by the name of Mavra."
She glanced down the tunnels yet again, trying to discern any shapes moving in the sputtering lights. Her voice dropped even lower until it was almost a whisper. "The guild I'm involved with has been watching the council for some time now and we've managed to find out that there was no assassination attempt and that Mavra is herself a vampire. You would think it would be a good thing to have a vampire on council but she has no interest in promoting peace between your race and the humans. The skirmishes have gotten more and more frequent since she joind the council and we have reason to believe it's only a matter of time before she convinces the council to declare all-out war on the vampires. We think she's hoping to shift the power from the humans to the vampires."
She scanned the two vampires faces, looking for any signs that they might find this idea appealing but she could barely make out their features and chose to continue. "This would, of course be devastating to both races so we've had a man inside the council building for some time now feeding us information but he turned up drained a few weeks ago and we're completely at a loss for what to do next." she admitted. I cant believe I'm going to vampires for help with this. she thought with a sigh, I sound like a freaking pacifist. Ah well, it cant be helped.
"Basically what I'm asking you to do is tail her, see if you can get close to her and find out exactly what her plan is and if the other council members know shes a vampire." she finished. Her hand was still resting on her gun, she hoped the vampires wouldn't react violently to her proposition but she'd rather be prepared just in case.

Sythian let out a tiny chuckle as Matsuko finished speaking. Quickly sitffling it due to the serious faces of the other two, she made her face emotionless. Ha, so she's asking us to do this. Why us? Personally, I'd rather not invovle myself in the war that's being waged around me. I am and have been perfectly content to merely live my own little life. She shrugged and clutched at her sleeve.
"So let me get this straight. You're telling us that we should tail this lady for you. Not to sound selfish, though I know it will, I'm getting what out of this little 'proposition' of yours?"
Staring at Matsuko, she couldn't help but think of how the other vampire'd react. Her eyes were already turning a nice shade of black. A mere sign that she wasn't liking this whole ordeal and wasn't going to put up with any further annoyances. Shooting a cold look at Matsuko, she uttered a deep sigh. She shifted her weight and looked to the other vampire.

"Geez, look at the bigger picture here! Isn't it enough that you're quite possibly helping to prevent the slaughter of hundreds of your fellow vampires?" she lectured sarcastically. She knew the issue of payment would come up sooner or later and took it as a good sign. It must mean that they were at least considering her proposition. "The guild's paying at least 20,000 zenny depending on what you bring back." she mumbled reluctantly, kicking a loose brick from the tunnel wall with the back of her heel. She would have gone after Mavra herself for that much money but seeing as the vampire already knew her face... she absentmindedly traced over the scar on her cheek as she waited for the two vampires' responses.

Vena gave a very unladylike snort, crossing her arms across her chest. Her usually emerald eyes were laced with the ruby of the rising of her vampire blood. Anger rose within her, a great, hungry dragon jerking at its chain, but she quickly throttled the urge to hurt her. This bounty hunter couldn't know... couldn't know how she had become a vampire, how her childhood had been stolen from her, her family murdered, her bright future barred from her, her life destroyed... again, she forced the dragon within her down. Matsuko had no way of knowing that not only would it be no skin off Vena's back if vampires died, Vena would be glad.
Her teeth were clenched tight, and her words came out as a snarl. "And why should I care if you're hunting vampires?" She seemed to be biting the words off as they left her mouth. "Why should I care if they die, as long as it's not me?" Her voice rose in volume and bitter intensity with those last words, though never loud enough to be overheard. Her eyes resembled a strange pair of shattered stained-glass windows, or oil floating over water, with green and crimson flowing, rippling across them, fighting for dominance. With the short, caustic retort, a lock of hair had fallen into her eyes; a bright, shining golden curl that resembled a fragment of a broken halo that disappeared an intant later, thrown back into her hood like a trinket into a pick-pocket's sack as she tossed her head like an angry horse. However, in that split second, her face was almost visible, lit from above by the wan glow from the lights above them, and it was familiar, somehow, like the strangely altered echo of a well-known face... but the glimpse was fleeting, like a flash of lighting in the distance, and the hood dropped back down over her face.

Seeing no response forth coming from the guy Devi thought to be Zak, she decided it wasn't worth her time and turned to head back towards Matsuko and the vampires. Atleast there she might be able to do something instead of hanging around some guy she didn't know or like. Devi picked up the pace a bit and made her way back to the tunnel in sector ten. Twenty minutes later Devi could make out the forms of the bounty hunter and the two vamps. One of the vamps was standing a bit unconfortably, while the other threw her head back, while the hunter rubbed at her face. Wow...I wonder what Matsuko said to them. That one is throwing it's head back in rage, and the other looks super pissed! They might attack. I should be there to help, two on one isn't a fair fight! Going along with her line of thinking and her inflated ego, she switched her daggers from thier boot sheath to the one on her belt -so it would be easier to withdraw- and made her way down the tunnel to join thier little gathering.

Seeing Vena's reaction to Matsuko's words, Sythian clutched tighter at her arms. A fight seemed on the edge of breaking out. She could hear the sound of someone approaching. Turning around, her gaze caught the figure of Devi. After shooting her a warning look, when she saw the flash of daggers, she she returned her gaze to the other two. Sensing the rage in Vena's voice, she decided that these two were of more importance at the moment than one bounty hunter with a couple of daggers.
"Even if we were to accept your offer, how the heck are we supposed to get close to her? She's a member of the council and we're merely citizens in this chaotic system."
Sythian was becoming more and more aggravated by the second. She wanted nothing more than to go home and sleep. A yawn rose in her throat, but she stifled it. If there was to be a fight, she didn't want the others knowing she was tired and therefore not as quick as she normally would be.
