This is a record of a PM RP between me and Eternaldelusion.

User ImageIt had been... how long? Who really kept track of petty things like dates? It didn't matter at any rate-- the letter had been sent, the invitation made. Now all that remained was for Narcissa to accept or deny-- denial would come through his simply not arriving at the pre-arranged meeting place, a quiet, private room at an upper class restaurant, not unlike the restaurants they'd frequented when they'd been together.

Sipping his glass of wine, Lucius paused in his musing to glance at the pocket watch he carried-- five minutes past time. Either Narcissa was late or he wasn't coming. Again, not particularly a surprise, but he'd thought when he'd mentioned Draco the unicorn might take the maternall course and actually show up for this. Ah well. Perhaps an oversight on Lucius' part-- or perhaps the copious rain outside was causing Narcissa a bit of a delay.

He'd wait for another ten minutes before ordering.

Narcissa had been very tempted not to come, whether it be about Draco or not, but in the end, he'd decided to go. Not ten minutes earlier he wasn't going to, but here he was, heading for the arranged room, and sighing under his breath.
This better be worth missing curling up infront of the fire with something warm to drink. And the slight walk in the rain. He'd used magic in the end. He stopped just outside the room, took a deep breath, then stepped in.
This had really better be worth it.

At the sound of the door sliding open, Lucius turned, smiling ever so slightly at the sight of the very creature of his thoughts. "Well, well. I almost didn't think you'd make it, with the weather," the lamia stood, motioning for Narcissa to take a seat. "I haven't ordered yet. The menu here is rather simple, naturally, but perhaps you'll find something to your liking." Keep it simple. Throw Narcissa off. Or get him upset. Either would work, and both would have the desired result.

eternaldelusion
Narcissa nodded and gracefully slid into the seat, silently wondering just why he'd bothered to dress up so much. Natural reaction, he supposed. Picking up the menu, he took his time thumbing through it, waiting for Lucius to speak again. He'd admit, he was curious as to why he'd been invited here. It was obviously not just a date, as Draco was involved. So he was worried as well. He kept his composure though, and didn't let it show.

After scanning through the menu for a few moments, letting the silence drag out, Lucius finally placed the menu down. "I've been considering the veal. Rumors tell me it's prepared particularly well here," he mumured, taking a sip of his wine slowly. "Has anything caught your eye yet?"

There obviously was more on the table here. Narcissa might know something, which could prove to be a problem, should the unicorn carry the information further than Lucius expected him to. However, every measure had a countermeasure, every action had a planned reaction. Lucius was in control here. He would turn this dinner the way he wanted it.

"I think I'll just have a salad," Narcissa replied, closing the menu and putting it on the table. "I went out to a buffet for lunch," he offered as an unnecessary explanation. Sirius, in a surprising act of civility, had offered to take him out. Though, he had guessed it was because his cousin had had no one else to go with at the moment, and didn't want to be alone.
He was starting to grow suspicious the longer he sat here, knowing that Lucius often had ulterior motives to almost everything he did. What was he up to?

Nodding, Lucius summoned the waiter with his wand and a thought-- as, naturally, this restaurant only catered to witches and wizards-- and placed their order. Once the creature had departed, he turned his attention back to Narcissa. "How have you been, Narcissa? It's been... a while since we've had a chance to actually talk to each other without others present."

eternaldelusion
"I've been fine. Lifes been a lot quieter lately." Only half the time he enjoyed it. "And you?"How long could these forced manners hold up, he wondered. At least, they were forced on his part. He'd like nothing more but to reach out and slap the man. For various reason.

"I've been fine as well," Lucius murmured, pouring a glass of wine for Narcissa. "How has life been with our dear cousin and his family?"

eternaldelusion
"Fine," Narcissa's voice sounded somewhat stiff now, "He's finally allowed me to look after his children." Which he was thankful for, Robin was sweet. "Speaking of children...I came here to talk about Draco."

"It's good that you're getting on better terms with our cousin. And yes, I suppose I did mention him in the invitation, didn't I?" Lucius mused, taking a long sip of his wine. "You needn't be so tense, Narcissa-- this is simply a civil discussion between mature individuals about our mutual interest in our son."

eternaldelusion
"I know you better than that," Narcissa said simply, sipping his drink, his eyes fixed firmly on the center of the table, "Just because I haven't seen you in awhile, doesn't mean you've changed in the slightest. Why did you want me here?"

"To talk, which is what I said in my letter, I believe, Narcissa," Lucius smiled. "After all, you should stay calm. It's not as though I invited you here to harm you or any such. If I wanted to harm you, I wouldn't have invited you."

eternaldelusion
"I know you're no threat to me, but to Draco, I'm not so sure," Narcissa said, looking up finally, and lifting his eyebrow, "But you brought me here to talk, so talk."

"Well, well. I think you're rushing things a bit, don't you?" Lucius mused. "We've only just sat down to dinner, you don't wish to at least play with a few of the pleasantries before delving into the main course of the discussion?

eternaldelusion
"I wish to get this over with." Narcissa was even more uneasy by this point. She didn't like not knowing what exactly was going on, "But I can tell you aren't going to get to the point any time soon, so I'll humor you."

"Still so touchy after all this time, Narcissa? Really. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, you know," Lucius mused, taking another slow sip of wine. "But if you truly wish to get down to business, perhaps we should. I'm concerned for our son. It's come to my attention that he's picked up a few... less than savory habits, and I wondered what you might suggest be done to curb these dangerous tendencies of his."

eternaldelusion

Did it really? It hadn't seemed to work the same for him, but his heart hadn't exactly grown any less fonder. Not that he would even mention that. "What would these habits be?" He was surprised that Lucius was expressing some sort of concern, be it fake or not, he couldn't really tell, so he was willing to hear him out.

"Larceny, for one, it seems, Narcissa," Lucius shrugged slightly. "And not the amusing kind either. He's made several of the members of the Nest upset with his theft. I've compensated the owners, naturally, as there's not much else to do as Draco refuses to tell me where he's hidden the items in question, but there are several members of the Nest who are rather... militant about their belief that he should be punished."

eternaldelusion
Narcissa frowned, looking down at his half-empty glass. "Oh dear..." What was that boy doing? Sighing, he set the glass down, "Punishing him...Though, it's not their place to say a damned thing, something should be done," he frowned, "But it's a good thing we're discussing this, because that's not something I'll leave entirely up to you. God only knows what you've already done to him."

draconianraven
And there it was. The overprotective mother. "I'll let the last slide for a moment, Narcissa-- but I wondered what you might suggest as far as this is concerned? Obviously Draco has gone a bit... off on this. Part of it, I'm sure, has to do with his little playmate, but that's quite a different story."

eternaldelusion
Narcissa frowned, his hand clenching under the table. The nerve of this man was...He was getting somewhat annoyed. "I can't suggest a thing until I hear his side of the story, Lucius." He didn't comment on that 'playmate' part. Some things he wanted to hear from his son, not Lucius.

"You met with him a while ago, didn't you, Narcissa?" Lucius asked, taking a sip of his wine. "Did he mention anything about his activities then? Or did he refuse to talk to you again?"

eternaldelusion
"I'm sure you can figure that one out for yourself," Narcissa said, huffing and putting on her old look of superiority, something she would've never dared to do to Lucius before now. She was out from under his thumb now, though. Somewhat.

"It's not surprising-- he doesn't trust you, you know, Narcissa," Lucius smiled slightly. "And don't go blaming me for that-- it wasn't my fault that things fell apart between us."

eternaldelusion
"I can't think of anyone else to blame," he replied lightly, taking a sip and emptying his glass, "But I'm not here to talk about us. Thats done."

"Denying any responsibility, Narcissa? Now really, that's simply not fair," Lucius smiled. "A relationship involves two parties, not one. But yes, that's not why we're here tonight. Our son is. And I don't see how you plan on getting his side of the story when he refuses to speak to you about anything of any importance, my dear. You'd be better off hearing it from his resident bodyguard."

eternaldelusion
"His bodyguard?" Narcissa repeated, confused, frowning. He was going to pointedly ignore any and all of the comments made on their 'relationship'. "Who's that?"
