Well, they have a thread for us so I suppose I might as well utilize it. I am a hard core CAPer through and through, I have been a cadet for 5 and half years and will soon be 21, and have to switch to the dark side, but I totally plan on doing so. I am an encampment junkie... I have been to four and an in the process of planning and organizing what will be my fifth xd and last as a cadet sad If there are any other CAPers out there you should totally post and be cool like me xd

Civil Air Patrol, its the official US Air Force Auxiliary. We have actually existed longer than the Air Force, we received our commission 6 days before Pearl Harbor. It is an entirely volunteer service, made up of Officers and Cadets (which is semi misleading as there are Cadet Officer ranks lol, I am a Major). We focus on Leadership, Aerospace, and Emergency Services. If you are at all interested in the Air Force (or the military in general), you should totally look in to units in your area. There are amazing opportunities available for cadets. I was able to go down into an Air Force Missileer Capsule before my friend who actually was a Missileer.

You can join CAP. Cadets are 12-21, so it would be a great time for you to start. It would give you lots of time to work your way through the ranks, not to mention many summers to fill with the great activities CAP has to offer to cadets.
