Hmm... might try that when my bass strings go... but i'll make sure I have a new set spare so if it don't work i've got a new set. I've never changed strings on a bass and was wondering how long I should leave them before I need to change them.
Any one?

I do this with my 5 string bass and it actually does give them a fetter sound. I don't really want to do this with guitar strings because they aren't as expensive even though it's hard to find DR strings around here.

Dancing with Myself Gods Jester navybluewolf2 Gods Jester DigitalTrowa It seems more reasonable for a bass player to do this. Those strings are pricey. Yeah, but they last for friggin forever. uh i'm pretty rough on bass strings, sometimes when i'm not paying attention to my tuneing i break em or when i pop or slap they break... burning_eyes burning_eyes burning_eyes burning_eyes I can't imagine a bass string breaking eek eek eek eek Neither could I, until I met navy... I rarely break one of my extra light guitar strings, but he snaps bass strings at regular intervals... I think somebody just needs to chillax a little when he play... gosh I got to see this. thats liek crazy. ive only broke a guitar string twice ever and one was on my dads old guitar that hadnt been played in o i dont know 10 years lmao and the other time i tightened it way to tight lol

sounds like a great way to get all the gunk out from your strings...but i doubt it would take flat spots out of the strings cause by the frets, or am i wrong?

well i've talked about it with a bunch of people, and simple chemistry will prove this is the dumbest idea ever metal+=rust metal+HEATED water= faster rusting and if it did help...companies WOULD sell them like that, like any good guitarist would do, is also help people by helping them find their sound

Chaos A.D. does it really give them their life back? i herd that it sometimes ruins the tone of the strings or what ever i was thinking aobut trying it but why not ask people who know more about it? so yeah, does it work? It does make them sound better, but your better of doing that with bass strings. Guitar strings = cheap, Bass strings = gonk
