ecsuse the japanese XD
Ok, i love theives, they are not SO strong, but their speed makes up for it. As you probably know, there are two types of theif. The Bandit and the assassin. Oh, for Bandits, only be a luk or a str bandit.. not both. I reccomend luk, more damage, if you are, dont get any daggers with STR requirements
Whats the difference?
Bandits attack up close, assassins attack far away.
Assassins use stars, making them more expensive.
Bandits use daggers, making them slow to level.
Bandits attack up close, assassins attack far away.
Most people go for assassins.
You cant buy many claws (assassins weapons) in shops.
Bandits attack up close, assassins attack far away.
I repeated one part three times, to make sure you understand, assassins CANT attack up close, or they will do a useless punch.
Starting
Ok, this guide isnt for newbies at maple, its for newbies at theives, so lets cut to the chase.
Quests on maple island
Well this depends on what you can do, in my opinion, all of them are easy, you can get a nice free dagger which is useful, especially for bandits. Although, this quest is harder than most, 10 mushroom caps is hard, but im sure some people will have no problems
Stats
Ok. This is where it gets harder for me ^^;;
The usual stat build is
Lvl 1 > Get to 25 Dex as soon as possible
After that..
Make sure your Dex is double your level and everything else is into luk. So, after you have your Dex double your level, 2 dex and 3 luk each level.
Level 40
At level 40, add only ONE luk per level not Two.
Str bandit
Lvl 1 > Get to 25 Dex as soon as possible
After that..
Do the same as the build above EXEPT make sure you have the right amount of STR for your next dagger ^^
Training
Training. The thing that levels you up... that was cheesy
1~5 Snails, Green and blue.
6~10 Hokay, you may want to stay with snails here, but if you have a dagger you may want to try red snails, or even orange mushies.
10~15 The tree that grew 2 or 3, great maps for a while and if you are a bandit you may want to try the slime tree, assassins may try this too but there are big mobs, hard for new sins.
16~20 Mushroom gardens, if these are always too full, there are some good maps around kerning, try one map left.
21~25 PQs are great exp here, you may not be so usefull, but getting in with someone who is willing to help, is awsome. Aslo Mushrooms *(green and horned)* can be quite good around here
26~30 Yet again, PQs are great exp here, although you many want to try boars, in the land of wild boar II
Skills
Oky, skills time ^^''
Nimble Body

Increases accuracy and avoidability.
Keen Eyes

Increases the range of attack using throwing weapons such as throwing stars & knives.
Disorder

Temporarily decreases the morale of an opponent. Its weapon def. and attack will suffer, and the attacking enemy will suddenly stop attacking. Can't perform the attack on an enemy that's already in "disorder", however.
Dark Sight

Use MP to hide behind the shadows. While hiding, the enemy won't attack, but you can't attack back either. All movements other than attacking are available. It's temporary, so after a while, you'll be back to normal.
Double Stab

Use MP to quickly stab an enemy twice at once using a dagger.
Lucky Seven

Use MP to throw 2 throwing stars and apply damage based on LUK, regardless of the rate of javelin mastery.
Now, lets see how we are going to distribute them

Some Bandits prefer a higher level disorder to dark sight, if you do, then add some disorder instead of all that dark sight! @_@
Banditsin
Same as assassin.
Tips and Tricks
The Jumpshot
Bandits and assassins are blessed with the power to jump and attack, it couldnt be simpler, press jump, then attack!
Also, you can do a moving jump and attack.

The Backshot
they are also blessed with the ability to attack while going backwards, do pull this off, jump backwards, face the monster, and attack.
This takes some practice for some people, but you must master this or be forever known as a noob.

+7 meba?
the +7 meba is well known to assassins, it is when you get a meba (level 25 claw) and upgrade it with 100% claw attack scrolls, this way it saves assassins loosing to much cash, you wont need another claw till about level 40!

low dex
some thieves like doing more damage, so they add much more to luk and less to dex, im unsure on the stat build however. What they do is upgrade a sauana robe and perhaps other items, with +Dex scrolls.
