Jeremy Davis. Bassist. Age 21. D.O.B: Feb 8 1985
"I really wanted to play the guitar because my dad did, but one day he told me that I should try out the bass, and if I liked it then I could play for him when he sang in Children’s Church. A few days later, someone gave my dad an old starter bass to give to me. I tried it out and found that I really loved it… so, I played in children’s church for about a year.
At the same time, I was going to Hillsboro Middle School in Lieper’s Fork, Tennessee, where they had just started a music program for the students called, “Kids On Stage.” It was known as the number one music program for a public school in the world. I thought it was the coolest thing. I had a class called “Rock Band”, where I got to start a band and play cover songs for class. That school had a huge affect on me and I believe it got me where I am now.
While I was there, I started to get into R&B and funk music, so I put together a funk cover band. Our band played song’s by Michael McDonald, Stevie Wonder, Jamaroqui, Aretha Franklin, and many more funk and soul artists. As we started to get better we were playing lots of shows. Sometimes, we would get to leave and go play at other schools, and once we got really good we’d even play shows out of town. Eventually, one of our lead singers had to leave, so we put up adds for singers to come and try out.
One day, Hayley called and said that she wanted to come and try out. She came and immediately we said, “Yes”. So, that’s where I met Hayley. Then about a year and a half later, she called me and said “Hey, I’m in band and we really need…” and before she could get another word out I said, “Yes! I will!” I went and tried out ,where they were practicing, at the Farro’s house. We ate a lot of Taco Bell and just had the best time. Now, that we are on the road, we eat Taco Bell almost everyday and I’m so happy to be part of this incredible band."
