In the deserts of Isolde the City of Fire Mountain is an oasis of life. Built on a desert spring the city blossomed with ease, allowing a safe place for caravans and travelers to stop and sell their goods. The city is nearly one big marketplace, with homes only on the outer fringes. City guards, pieced together by the denizens of Fire Mountain, patrol the City, doing their best to keep the streets safe and a watchful eye on those that would enter the city. The City itself is named after the volcano that looms above it, casting its shadow over the oasis during dawn and dusk.
Beneath the brightly colored tents of the Bazaar, where the shadows retreat when the sun rises, can be found the Thieves Guild. The way made secret except to those with skill or coin enough to find it. Here it’s not who you are, but what you are good at and how much you are willing pay that makes a difference.
Bright colored silks drape from the ceiling illuminated by torchlight, giving the dark under-city a rich, welcoming feel. Thieves make private bargains in the nooks and crannies. The young practice the skills that they will use the rest of their lives, while deals are struck and broken in other corners of the den. The ‘Prince of Thieves,’ Guildmaster Calisan Nyx calls this home.

Guild Law
1. The Guildmaster’s word is final on all matters pertaining to the guild in its operations, bylaws, and well…everything else.
2. Guild members reserve the right to operate independently of one another so long as dues are paid.
3. Each member is responsible for his or her dues. Tithe is due by the night of the no moon. Should it be brought past the dawn, the due is now doubled, and doubled every day thereafter till paid. If he or she fails in payment of dues by the consecutive no moon then he/she is considered expelled from the guild and any and all possessions are considered forfeit by guild law and will be retrieved.
4. Thieves operating within Fire Mountain must register with the guild. Should he/she operate without Guild consent and be caught, first charge against they will receive warning, second charge against they will be punished as is determined by the extent of their profits.
5. A bargain between thieves is one made in shadow, and only in shadow may it be broken. Let not any break such bargains in the spectrum of the public, lest they in turn face punishments due in double for their crime in return.

Common Guild Knowledge
The Bazaar is the prime place to make ends meet, though the inflow of caravans can vary from day to day.
City Guard is made up of volunteers from citizens of the city that have agreed to give part of their time to protect.
More than a few of the Guard are well trained.
Guard’s shift change happens every 4 hours.
Nyx became guildmaster after challenging the previous holder of the position. He has a bargain with the dragon that lives beneath Fire Mountain: for a portion of guild profits the dragon will guard the guild treasury. For this reason he has yet to be challenged.
Bribes are sometimes accepted by the Guildmaster for late guild dues, pending on his mood and the time of day. Wake him at your own risk.
Nyx likes sweets.

Note: Roll two 6 sided dice before beginning this quest (1st number higher, 2nd lower = you went in for something expensive and got something of lesser value; both numbers equal = you got what you came in for; 1st lower, 2nd higher = you left with something of greater value than you came in for.) (5 GP)

Note: Roll a 6 sided die before beginning this quest (1=Old Nag, 2=Mule, 3=plough horse, 4=well-trained riding horse, 5=warhorse, 6=noble's horse - the higher the number the prettier/better the horse.) (5 GP)

Other Mini-Quests**
It's the night of the No Moon and your guild dues are to be submitted. Have you got your dues owed or are you empty handed? What is it that you are giving as your tithe to the guild? Money, gems, objects of value? Is this your first tithe to the guild? Write 2-4 paragraphs about your experience. (7 GP)
You've teamed up with several other guild members only to have your portion of the take stolen by them. How did this happen? What are you going to do about it? Do you get back at them, steal it back, or let them have it? Write 3-5 paragraphs, be realistic to the age and experience of your Rinanci in the response. (10 GP)
*Note: If you want to RP with other people any of these (and yes you can go out of order) that is fine with me, just please let me know in advance. You must transfer the RP into your journal with the mini-quest quoted above it so I know what mini-quest the RP goes to.
**Note: If you wish you may substitute these for any listed above as long as it contains the same GP value.
