I would have to say my least favorite character is YUKINA!! >__< Sorry I just hate her! She is just REALLY dumb. I just can't stand her! She's just so ditsy and I think the only reason why Hiei cares about her is just because she's his sister... if she was just some random girl I really don't think that he would like her at all... either that or he'd just ignore her.
AND I REALLY DISLIKE KURAMA X YUKINA PAIRINGS!!!!!!!!!! YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
You don't understand Yukina at all do you? Or you REALLY didn't pay attention to the series... Botan is ditzier than Yukina much of the time... and Yukina isn't even ditzy, Yukina is ignorant. She was isolated from society by her people, not knowing much about the world around her isn't her fault. And honestly, if you claim she's stupid because she doesn't know who Hiei is to her, you are DEAD WRONG. Yukina knows, we can tell she knows. She calls Hiei "Nii-san" in the Japanese version, you know what "nii-san" means.... It's NOT a kind of car. It means "brother". So really, watch the show a little closer and then decide if you hate Yukina so much.

I don't even know if you could call her ignorant. There was undoubtedly things that she didn't understand due to her isolation, but in the main they never dwelled on those. I felt that Yukina, of the girls and aside from Shizuru, was the most intelligent. And of course Hiei only cares about her because she's his sister...why else would he? I don't understand why a person is only important if Hiei likes him/her, if that's what you're trying to say. And of course I agree with Hoshi, she figures out that Hiei's her brother and she's smart enough not to confront him about it. She's innocent, but not stupid.

As for my least favorite character, of the main cast I'd probably say Botan. She's a nice girl, and sometimes funny, but I don't feel any depth from her at all. She's got no life story and she doesn't develop as a character through the series, where everyone else pretty much does.

I rather like Botan. She's got an interesting personality for someone that works around death.

I know everyone has their own interests and dislikes, so I'm not trying to shoot you down or anything. just stating my own opinion.

I am not so sure about that really. While I *do* like Yukina, there just seemed to be so much that she really didn't understand. Perhaps ignorant was the wrong wording to use to describe her. However she really does seem rather uneducated on her surroundings out side of the island because of her isolation. I know Yukina is not necessarily dumb, however she doesn't show much of any hidden intelligence she might have. This might stem from the fact that she wasn't given much more of a chance than Botan to really develop as a character and come into her own. I would call Yukina naive, but she's really not as simple as all that. I think Yukina is a hard character to label as it were, because we don't know enough about her. All I know is that from what I have seen her gentle nature seems to come off as rather "slow" if you will, but there's that hidden light in her eyes that lets you know that there's so much more going on in her head than she's going to let us know about.

As for Botan, well I think Togashi kind of laid her out there for what she was. In fact I am not sure what could have been done to develop her character anymore. Essentially we see how she reacts to a situation and follows through on it, also, there were only a few characters she might have played off of in order to develp more. Bah, I am not explaining myself well. And don't worry, I support your opinions and dislike of her, to each their own, I am just saying that I couldn't have seen much room for development on her part.

I agree, Yukina is more naive than anything, which is to be expected. I wish we could have gotten to see more of her. As for Botan, I think if she had had more screen time, or more opportunities to interact with the others, it might have made her more deep. Also, because YYH is an action manga, if she had been a fighter she would have been developed ten times over. You're right, there really wasn't any time for her to develop, and yet in a way that's a good thing for me, because Yu Yu Hakusho isn't like Inuyasha or Naruto where 60% of the episodes are just filler. Taking the time to flesh out everyone might have killed the series a bit.
