Yup yup, I know I haven't posted in forever, but I really thought I should post my awesome mashed potato recipe!
Whole Potatos (however many desired) Water (for boiling) Butter (not sure how much...I like alot of butter) Salt and Pepper (for taste of course) Garlic Powder (for the galic-y taste) Minced garlic (if you don't wanna use powder..or both if you just love garlic) Parsley leaves (decoration and taste) Milk (For Texture)
Put the potatoes on to boil (duh lol) till soft. After they're done boiling, drain the water DON'T PEEL THEM! Mashed them with a spoon, fork or potatoe masher if you have one in the pot you just boiled them in. Add the butter, salt and pepper. Stir good and don't forget to taste it to make sure it's not too buttery or too salty. Add the garlic now...stir and taste again. If it's too thick add milk. Then after it's not too milky, not too salty, not too buttery and not to garlic-y, add the parsly. You might have to re-warm the potatoes, but other then that they are done. Enjoy! (sorry about my spelling errors lmao)

Thanks... this sounds great.
When making mashed potatoes, has anyone ever tried blending some Ranch dressing in while blending in the milk? It's good and adds a bit of flavor.

Sounds good smile
I used to put ranch in my mashed potatoes all the time. Your right it does add a good flavor.
This is weird but I used to put the packets of french onion soup powder in mashed potatoes also. I at least thought it was good.

Mmm....all of these sound good.
Speaking of Onion Soup mix, you can mix it with sour cream and chopped artichokes and it makes a good dip.

I just boil the potatoes, mash the heck out of them then add cheese, garlic salt and sour cream. Easy and delicious (they were a big hit at my Christmas dinner).
