Thalia glanced up and gave him a smile before kissing his cheek and then leaning back in her chair. "Grandmama won't be happy about that one. I take it she's requested we keep an eye on him from our side of the borders as well?" That wouldn't be hard. There were enough mortals ghouled to keep an eye on him during the day and they all could watch for him at night and subdue him if need be. She heaved a sigh and shook her head, "Someone has a pretty sadistic taste of entertainment. They're massacring mortals all over the place. It's like a bad horror film all about our kind. The cops are saying its gang activity but the gangs have been disappearing steadily and the crime rate, aside from these of course, is going down. Something's not meshing somewhere." But she crossed her arms and relayed her entire visit with DJ at the bar and the deal they'd come to. "So we have a week to get the family out without anyone finding out and getting maimed and we'll get the info we need. Ideas?"

Lynx listened and nodded lightly.
"I see. gang warfare story covers good, the lower of gang numbers also works to help that story. let them go with that for now. tell our ghouls in the police to see if they can trace any kind of pattern or similarities in the deaths for that. as to Jones' family...that's much tougher. with family on both sides of the border in this little dispute we'd have to get some kind of arrangement with your father. best bet right now is quick and clean. connect them to the organized crime, then have them taken into federal custody. witness protection. that way they can be relocated even outside the city for thier protection. still need your father, since he has the feds on his control."
leaning back some.
"Of course if you have any other ideas you think might work better or be easier to do I'm all ears. though if Jones is in possession of thier personal communication setup, that tidbit alone should get your father on board for anything."

She flipped through s few more files and then shoved them away unable to stomach anymore of the gruesome scenes. Death didn't bother her, she barely batted an eye but the senseless massacre of mortals in such degrading ways was enough to turn her stomach. "My thoughts went that general direction as well." She sighed, "It would be so much easier to just 'kill' them off in a random car accident or something and no one would ever be the wiser. But Jones said he didn't want them dead to the mortal world." She tapped her nails for a moment deep in thought and then nodded, "Daddy should be relatively easy to convince right now. We're on a shaky truce but with Grandmama in town he's much more compliant. If he refuses we'll just get her to twist his arm. She'll take great joy in doing it too."

"I'm sure she would. but we'll go the witness route...I'll make the calls, and then we'll deal with your father for his end. shouldn't be too hard as you said especially with the prize being offered."
So he got on the phone, making the calls that needed to be done before dailing the number to darvien's office.

everything had been arranged and set up, and Lynx was waiting with Thalia for the first leaks of information. they knew the russian czar was about of course, when Lynx got a phone message from the lobby. he looked at the phone, shook his head, and listened to it again. then set the phone down and called up one of the police chiefs.
"Do what you need to, but nothing leaves. not by plane, train, or car. call it a serial killer, rapist, whatever search. nothing comes or goes without direct say so from a council member or myself."
then he picked up his jacket, and handed Thalia hers as well.
"we're going out to the Locker. you're father is requesting us there and it's important."
no need to throw her into a panic by telling her that apparently darvien or nicolas felt something or saw something happen to her grandsire.

She glanced up from those same files she'd been flipping through for the last few nights and frowned. Something was afoot? She knew she'd felt something strange happening, probably through her connection to her father, but hadn't been able to place what it was. "Alright..." Taking her jacket, she threw it over the arm of the couch and slipped a piece of paper out of the file. Closing it carefully, she stood and pulled on her jacket then ran her fingers through her long hair. "Did he say anything else?" She knew her father too well to know he'd just request their presence. That man couldn't keep a secret for all the money in the world, especially when he was pissed off. Grabbing his keys, she headed down to the garage and tossed them to him then climbed in the car.

Good, she was in the car. Lynx grabbed his guns, and hers, and his gladius and put them in the back seat, and got in the car, looking over to her as he started the engine.
"Promise not to have a panic attack?"

She glanced over at him and her emerald eyes widened perceptibly. "Yes..." That didn't sound very good at all, thus her hands tightened on the legs of her jeans and she instantly braced herself for really bad news. She didn't much like the look in his eyes at all. "What happened, Lynx?"

"your grandsire is in trouble. apparently she had meeting with the russian czar, one of her pets to keep the russian throne I'm sure. it didn't turn out well, and she's in trouble. that was your father on the voicemail. he wants the city as best we can locked down so nothing gets in or out without one of us knowing, and asked us to meet him at the Locker. apparently he's going hunting after the russian."
Starting up the car adn heading out, making there way to the Locker.
"I didn't think you'd want to be left at home and who knows how long this might take. if he managed to subdue Masika, then either he'd very smart, or someone is giving him some serious help in one form or another."

So, Grandmama was in trouble? "All of that can be done rather easily but this is the Russian Czar we're talking about. He could be anywhere at anytime and take her with him. They have diplomatic immunity in most places and no one will think to question them and gain Russia's disfavor. Grandmama has vastly improved many things in Russia even to this day. It's no longer the poor, third world-esque country most think." Pausing a moment, she ran a hand through her glossy hair and then shot him a sarcastic smirk. "You were right about that. You know I hate being babied. My father always did that." Exiting the car gracefully, she took a seat at the bar and folded her hands to wait. "There will be no fighting this evening, Lynx. Agree to disagree or walk away but we are all here for the same purpose and fighting isn't going to solve anything.
