How did you get hooked on Warcraft? What do people like about it so much that they become total slaves to it? I'm curious about it, but afraid to try it myself. I don't have the time for an obsession! crying

I was hooked on WoW for awhile until something happened and Blizzard pissed me off something fierce so I left. Its hard to explain what is so addicting about the game just as its hard to explain what is so addicting about any mmorpg out there. There are various things that draw people to games rather its the social aspect or the game itself.
However it could be worse than just being addicted to WoW you could be like me and have generally four subscriptions to diffrent massive multiplayer online games active at one time.
Not to mention I go to college and work full time eek

well i'm just in love with rpgs in general so obviously a new rpg is gonna get me hooked, there's just the basic structure of an rpg that i like and it being online and being able to get sweet gear and meet people, not to mention stay in contact with my sister and have fun with her and the same time, and kick asses when u get pissed kinda drew me in, really the only reason i quit was because of school and the fact that i'm 14 and have no income to pay for the game, oh and that blizzard doesnt really know how to run a game, they pissed me off sometimes

There's something with making your own character... almost like Gaia, but more fun because you can move about and do whatever rather than just post, vote and comment. *throws two pennies on the floor*

I'm sooo addicted to rpgs in general, but WoW has just now pushed ahead of GuildWars on my computer as the game I play the most. Kaydienne, I am soo with you on this; I work part-time and attend college full-time and have a family. No matter what, I always try to make time to play on one of my characters but sometimes (a lot of times) I usually pass on sleep in order to do so. And now that I am in a guild I started doing instances...so there goes more sleep... But I like the game so much; it's more visually appealing than GuildWars and has a lot less lag (at least on the Horde side of Stormrage). I like the way that the login to your character works (the whole que thing), and there are a lot more quests which is great for me because I tend to go solo most often. I can thank my best friend for getting me hooked; she got hooked on playing it because of her brother. And my daughter is hooked too because of her friend...we're all addicts!

I got sucked into WoW on a major level for about a year - I still want to play it but I have too much going on right now. You have to spend SOOO much time playing to make it worth it. You have to have good armour and then the questing and the grinding and the leveling. You either have to play as often as possible to keep up or you play when you can and you get left behind and don't get very far
crying *wants to play some more*

I started playing WoW a while ago but I wouldn't say I'm uber addicted. I have times where I'll play it all weekend, and other times I won't play it at all. Yesterday I played it untill 11, only because I lost track of time. Can't see the computer clock when you play, Lmao. You should play Wow, if you can. It's an amazing game, but don't worry about getting an addiction. I'm sure you won't. People who quit school just to play it, are normally losers or drug addicts. I can balance school and WoW fine. So I'm sure you can balance it as well.
Tauren Shaman, holla. XD;
