My mother suffered from depression. (past tense - dead now)

It's not just younger generations. It's just getting diagnosed better. And I don't believe religion has anything to do with it. There IS a different view people have of the whole world... People are seeing the greater picture... How the whole world is going down the crap shoot. So... kinda makes sense that those with tendencies for depression are more likely to feel the whole world caving in on them.

Yeah. I have thought about it long and hard. I've suffered a lot. First and second hand.

But I'm an atheist. So I hope you're not trying to say that blind faith in something that cannot be proven one way or another is what could have saved me or my mother or any of the other people I know could have saved us from the crippling torture of depression. ...Is all I'm saying...


Umm... Yeah... I think that should be the last I say about the subject matter... So, reply, sure... But... I don't think I should keep at it... I'll read, but keep my mouth zipped from now on...

I didn't say that it was only affecting the younger ones, only that it's starting younger. I agree with what you're saying about it getting diagnosed better and the world going down the crap shooter. I think that religion has to do with everything. It is how you think and one of the main things backing up what you do and why. But the world always has sucked and in my opinion always will. Same level of suckage. It's just that the type of sucakge and human reaction is changing with the rest of the world.

And in no way shape or form am I saying that "blind faith" could have saving you or anyone else from depression. You are assuming something that is not there.

I think I shall be wise like you and shut my mouth at this point before this heats up.

As a side note, my faith is not blind.
