..::What's This? A New Egg!(unfinished)::.. Quote: Where: Who's Involved: Alexia, Boo, Ivory, Karen About: All I did was go for a walk! And I ended up getting a dragon egg! It was nice to take a walk. The cool breeze played across her face and blew her loose pigtails behind her head. Strapped to her back was a small backpack, with a black pegasus stuffie peeking it's head from under the flap. In front of her skipped a small, statue of a dragon, making little squeaking noises. It raised it's head, and suddenly dove inside what looked like a shop.
"Boo!" she called after it, running into the building. "What are you doing?" The little creature was pouncing up and down besides a clutch of eggs.
Ivory nodded to Karen. "Of course you can have it! You are qualified. Again, we have another customer, so please wait momentarily. Then I will get you something to carry it in."
Ivory walked out into the main room, chuckling as she saw the Dragon looking at the clutch of Eggs. "I'm sorry, but those aren't ready to leave at the moment. Would you like to see the ones that are ready to be adopted?"
The little girl picked up the still hopping Boo and cuddled him in her arms. "Ready to be adopted?" she asked, taking glances around. "I'm sorry. He just ran in here."
A small gust of wind blew and brought an eerie chill with it. A girl seem to appear out of nowhere, and by nowhere it means it was vacant there one moment and then she was there. Straight white hair blew easily around her shoulders and slitted red eyes contemplating entering this store which held so many different signals of life. She decided yes.
She stepped confidently despite the long black skirt that threatened to trip her, and the contrast between her black top against her pale skin was severely strong. Peering around through the doorway, she moved in cautious, as if waiting for something to jump out at her. Staring at the eggs, she raised an eyebrow and suddenly said, "Dragons?"
"Yes, we have many Eggs that are ready to be adopted. You see, we have many Endangered species here, mainly Dragons that we give out to Gaian families. At the moment, we have no other creatures ready to go. We still have some left of the Dragon clutch in the other room."
Ivory had bee speaking to both of them, and now put on a soothing smile. Just as Tilth had said, this was going fine.
"Hmm." The strange girl hummed, looking around slowly. "Interesting." Without waiting for anyone to follow or invite her to look, she swept past and immediately went to the other room the girl had spoke of. Once there, she eyed the eggs and crossed her arms, scanning over them.
She blinked. "Adopt a dragon?" Boo squirmed in her arms, wanting to see the eggs. You could adopt a dragon? Her silver dragon wings fluttered as her eyes rested on the clutch for a moment. It was tempting...but the house was already so full of pets. And a dragon must be huge once it's full grown. Still....the forest was close by and their yard was pretty big. "I've never heard of adopting a dragon. Nor that they were endangered. Can anyone adopt one?"
"Anyone can if an Egg calls out to them. Many haven't heard they are Endangered because, many do not know some."
Ivory stepped into the other room, motioning for her to follow. She spread her arms, spinning slowly to show the Eggs and the other girls. "See if any will call to you."
As she turned and studied the eggs, subconciously listening to what Ivory was saying, she felt a strange nagging from the back of her mind. She slowly twisted to look behind her, where another few eggs lay. The nagging was coming from there, she was sure of it. Without realizing it, she reached out a pale hand and dragged a finger across the surface of a dark egg with barely seeable red speckles. "...This one is nagging me." She said blankly.
"Ok."Karen said.She looked at the other girls there.
"Well yes, I felt like it was bugging me to look over, that's the word I would use." She said frowning very slightly. Running a hand over it's smooth surface, she made a clicking sound with her tongue. "...If it's okay, then yes. I would love to."
"Then please, all that have made a connection, there are carriers in the corner for the Eggs. The can tie like a backpack or around your waist, or anywhere else. Also, for any that are interested, there is housing available in the back. But, for those that already live somewhere, we would appreciate it if you would visit. I recommend you all stay atleast until you new Dragon has hatched, so we may prepare you to be able to take care of him or her."
"Stay?" she asked, eyes going wide. She wasn't old enough to stay somewhere on her own, nor did she think Trinity would appreciate having to move everyone else somewhere for a while.
Boo broke free of her loosened grip and hopped over to a particuliar egg. He pawed it gently, looking at the little girl.
"What are you doing, now? Must I teach you manners?" She took one step towards the tiny statue and heard a soft murmuring in her mind. Surprised, she stopped, before advancing on the egg. It stopped.
"Ok sure.I can stay here for awhile"She said and walked over to the carriers.She grabbed one and put her egg in it.She tied it like a backpack and put it on."I need to get some stuff first."She said and left the shop.She came back and went to the back where the housing was.
"Staying is optional, but if the Egg hatched and you were not prepared, it may not go too well."
She pointed to a door as Karen went by, saying, "You can take any of the rooms that don't have 'Taken' signs on them."
"I don't think I could." She stroked the shell of the egg near Boo. "I'm not even a preteen. Daddy knows about dragons, but he's not around. I don't know when he will be." She picked Boo back up in her arms, the statue now calm. She turned back around. "Could you teach me what I'd need to know? I think I felt that 'calling.' Something murmured in my head until I came over here."
Ivory thought for a moment, then nodded. "Well, all Hatchlings are basically the same, just wanting food and care for a couple of weeks. The confusing part is some are herbivors, others are carnivors, others are omnivors, and some are just annoying about what they eat. But, once you figure that out it's pretty simple. You will need to keep a close eye on you Hatchling-All of you that aren't staying better be listening!-Or else it will probably tear something up. If you treat it like a four year old, that's pretty close. Once they start trying to use their wings though(If it's a Basic Dragon), you should atleast stop by for a while so we can see how much trouble it will cause. Did you all get that?"
Ivory waited before she would explain further.
Listening to what she had said to everyone else, the strange white haired girl nodded to Ivory slowly and picked the egg up with gentle hands, cradeling it in her arms before going and picking up one of the carriers. "So...how long will it take for them to hatch? I don't need to leave any time soon, I can stay here for however long of a time, but I'm just curious."
The child nodded quickly. "I think so."

..::Title Later(unfinished)::.. Quote: Where: Dracosir House Who's Involved: Trinity, Alexia, About: New experiences. Booooring. Alexia sat at the kitchen table, half a glass of orange juice sitting undisturbed in front of her. Rain poured down the window near her. She traced one finger along the rim of the glass' top, watching the rain with her head titled on her arm. Rain was boring. She didn't know why her mother enjoyed the sound of it so much. The woman could lay in bed and just listen to it for hours. Alexia wanted to scream! Rain wasn't fun. All it brought was frustration. When she'd get bored, she'd run outside. But, no. Not this time. Stupid rain had to ruin all her would be fun.
"Too bad I can't control the weather," the girl sighed, bringing her glass towards her and taking a small sip. Hm....could someone like her do that? That would be cool.
She placed the glass back down on the table, sighing heavily. Where did Trinity go? And Boo and Mia? In fact....where did everyone go? Weird. Boo didn't usually leave her side. Nor Mia, seeing as she was still an infant. Maybe there were just off playing somewhere and she was simply over-reacting? Worried, heh. Now she knew how her parents felt.
Alexia probably wasn't your typical child. Although, she was never around many other children to safely come to that conclusion. Trinity always said she was wise beyond her years. No surprise. She'd always been curious about nearly anything and everything. And remembered what she was told.
Her hand came slapping hard onto the table top, causing her glass of juice to sway dangeriousily.

.~.~Alexia's Journal Entry #2~.~.
March 4, 2006
Dear Journal,
I don't think I like writing. I don't forget to keep a journal updated. I just don't want to. Or maybe it's because Mommy and Daddy are still away.
I adopted a dragon egg by accident weeks ago. Boo ran into the shop and started hopping besides a clutch. He didn't want to leave, so I stayed. Now I have a baby sea dragon. Like me. Cept I'm not a dragon. I named her Mia and she's big for a baby. She has to live in Mommy's fountain. She's cute with little spots on her back.
Well, I'm going to go now. I didn't want to write anything, but I thought I'd mention that.

.~.~.~Alexia's Journal Entry #3~.~.~.
May , 2006
Mommy brought a new baby home. Or, rather, she found one. I found her waking up earlier than she usually is and going out for a walk. I caught up to her halfway through the forests behind our house. She didn't tell me to return, so I walked on with her. At the shore, I went off on my own to look for shells amonst the rocks. I did find a few. I think I'll turn them into a necklace. Anyway, I neared a gap in some rocks, when I heard soft breathing. Rabid breathing, like Lana when she's sleeping. Did I mention we share a room? So when I looked down between the rocks, there was a baby sound asleep. She wasn't human. She had animal ears and was clutching a blanket of some material I've never seen before. Nor have I seen her ears. They weren't really fuzzy. Except near the tips. She had a name tag tied to her left hand. "Kohaku." I suppose that's her name.
I called Mommy over. Afterward we took the baby to the adoption agency, to see if someone lost her or something. The people there have never seen her before. Nor have any reports on someone like her. They told us to take her home and they'd keep in touch if they heard anything. It's been a week and no word, though. Maybe someone just left her on the beach...

..::Quickie(no, that's not it's name;I'll think up one later)::..
The day was quiet. Yes...actually quiet. Very abnormal for the Lockhart household, with four children and a slew of pets. Alexia lay stretched out on the couch, reading a book, not complaining about that one bit.
After the newest addition to the family, things had been noisy. Not that they weren't before. If it wasn't Lana jumping off the walls-even without sugar!-it was a fight between her two small cats. Tensions seemed high between those two as of late. It was unclear why. Living in close quarters for so long, perhaps.
The child stretched out her legs from the bent position they were in. Her book fell onto her lap. Her vision clouded over and a peaceful atmosphere came over her body. The cushions felt particuliar comfortable today. The quiet unusually hypnotic. Sleep overcame her....
"Ahhhh!"
What the....? Now fully awake, she bolted up, her book flying over the opposite side of the couch. A quick scan of her surroundings revealed nothing out of the ordinary. until...
Running full speed-and apparently round and round the first floor of the house-was a slightly hysterical Lana. Well, she was running as fast as a toddler could go. Slipping and falling on the floor, but getting back up each time to continue her route. This wasn't odd behaviour for her. Sometimes she did, in fact, run around the house. But this time was noticeably different. She seemed to be mumbling something. Alexia jumped off the couch to catch her little sister in a gentle arm lock.
"Lana?" she started to get the other's attention.
The little toddler looked up at her. "Momma's gone crazy," she said quietly. She then wiggled out of her older sister's grasp and scurried up the stairs, leaving Alexia crouched down with a confused expression on her face. Momma's gone crazy? What did that mean? And where had Lana come from? Wherever that was, Hoshi should be. And whatever had caused the toddler such excitement. The older child rose to her feet, listening for any sounds. There was nothing but the usual in the house, so she went outside.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The hell is that supposed to mean?" an enraged Hoshi retorted back at the neighbor she was arguing with. The bun on the back of her head was falling out, due to her swinging her arms and head around. Strands of raven black hair hung about her pretty face. "If you have a problem with us, you'd bloody well tell us!"
"It's that dragon you keep in the backyard!" the neighbor, a very stubborn middle aged man living alone with a few dogs and cats, yelled in rage.
Hoshi made fists of the hands at her sides, trying to keep herself from getting violent. Quite difficult, when a very violent person lived within you. Small sparks of fire flicked along the feathers of her wings. "Mia has done nothing wrong. She is a well-behaved dragon, trained and taught by my daughter. You have nothing against her."
"The hell I do! My prize-winning Terrier has gone missing!"
"Than it ran away! And if you treat your animals the way you are me, it's no wonder."
.~.~.~Alexia's Journal Entry #4~.~.~.
Jan. 1, 2007
Happy New Year! It is now 2007. Mommy told me this morning, some people make New Year's Revolutions. They make a promise to themselves of something to do in the new year. She said she usually doesn't make any, but I think I will. I will try to eat my vegetables without fuss. Even if they are disgusting. But mommy tells me they are good for me, so I will try.
We went to a Town party last night. There were games, food stands, shops. Lana played a lot of the games. We had to get two people to help us with all the winners, mostly stuff she won. Stuffed animals, plastic jewelery, party toys, stickers. Even a poster of a white tiger on a colorful background. That was one she said she wanted to keep. So Mommy tacked it up on the wall above her bed.
After that, we went to a food stand for some food. Kohaku kicked up a fuss about her pizza having onions on it. Mommy told her to be good and pick them off.
The fireworks at the end were beautiful. Not as great as the ones on TV. But there were many sparkly ones. Mommy had a drink of something she said we were too young to taste. Must be an adult drink. She kissed us each on the cheek, saying it was another New Years tradition. Weird.
Mommy says I should start going to Public School. With a bunch of kids my own age from the town. She said it's good for me to interact with children my own age. I'm not sure I want to. I like the other kids from the Adoption Center just fine. And she's always with me if anything goes wrong. In school, I'll be on my own. She also said she plans to make Kohaku go, too. We'd be in the same grade. Better for me to watch out for her. She'd get herself in a lot of trouble, I think, if she went to Public School.
