Cirque du Coeur Torve Captain

Setting ~
The backgrounds always change, as do the crowds, as Cirque is hopping from world to world on a weekly basis. The Cirque set up is usually a ticket booth out front leading into a wide open area lined with consession stands, stages for sideshow acts and covered tents filled with attractions. At the back is the entrance to the big top, an enormous area filled with everything possible to make a great show. Around two-thousand seats (too many for our current line-up) surround three center rings with catwalks and supports hanging from above.
Behind the big top is the "backstage" area which is only open to employees and their guests. The caravan trailers are usually lined up in a semi-circle in the very back, with set up stuff, tables and benches littered around for the staff to sit on. The trailers themselves are somewhat like the 1930's "cricus train" cars, with fancy gilded trimming on the more popular cast member's tailers and old peeling posters for the less fortunate.
Trailers
Gernally first stagers and other hired help live together with 6 or 8 people in the same trailer, seperating their personal space with curtains or thin walls. There's no system to who you get to bunk with and most new employees are left to find their own empty space without any help. Even though there are quite a few people living in a single trailer they are still the same size as the rest, sometimes even smaller. As the company gets bigger and more people are hired, or just due to someone's anti-social nature, some might find themselves sleeping in the equipment cars or bunking with some animals. But if the boss finds you sleeping here when there's a perfectly good space along side 7 smelly sideshow freaks, you'll probably be asked to move.
Once promoted as a performer you'll be moved into a much nicer trailer and only have to put up with one or two other room mates, usually of the same sex or profession. We'll let you pick who you room with and work out all the sleeping arrangments on your own.
When you've hit the big time you'll get a whole tailer all to yourself, unless, of course you want to lend someone else a space. Layout and belongings are all up to you.
World Hopping
Some worlds know that there are different worlds out there and such, some worlds have the technology or magic to even hop them like we do (though that is pretty rare) but most worlds don't really know about it. Its up to you, if you want to play like you've been told about the hopping or if you want to play being totally confused about it and unaware.
The hopping itself happens at the dead of night when everyone is usually asleep and its not very noticable AS they hop. Only the ringmaster has any control over where they go, and even that can be a little shakey at times.
Characters ~
Although Cirque has a small number of unseen, unplayed worker type characters, as to give the atmosphere of it always being populated, the only performers are the ones listed in the cast. Cirque did have more cast members, but right now you're all we've got.
When Cirque is open to the public the place gets quite crowded and the performers should feel free to interact with audience members. Anyone is allowed to be an audience member, but keep in mind that Cirque is a traveling circus and any particular audience member should only be used once or for only a short while while we're "in town." We don't accept roadies.
