What beauty you inspire as you breath deeply in silent slumber.
My heart is stirred and my stomach flutters
As I watch you dream, and I pray you dream of me
As I have dreamt of you.
Torn by past tremors, horrors, and fights
I'm not quite sure what to think of this, this that is happening.
Those sort of things are hard to tell
Hard to predict what will stay and what will go
But I long for the steadiness that has always
Escaped my grasp.
I long for the light touch of softness and warmth,
Of the heavy layer of protection, of the strength, and the love
That has denied me.
Do not betray me, o heart of mine
Let the sweet hand lay me down and keep me
Do not let it stray
I know it may be difficult, it may be hard
But it is something I yearn for, and yet...
And yet I do not think I will ever catch that elusive steadiness,
That love that I so long to have.
Keep these thoughts within you always, even if you are no longer by my side.
Keep me in your mind, always, I will keep you in mine.
