I've been wanting to learn PHP for awhile, but I'm not quite sure where to start.

Does anybody know a good introductory website or book I could check out? I'll be taking some courses throughout my last few years of college of course, but I do best learning on my own.

Any tips/links/referecnes would be great!

id suggest going to SorceForge.net downloading a simple php script then use php.net to find what each of the functions do then edit the script peice by peice

I'll suggest http://www.w3schools.com/php/

That'll take you though the most 'common' php activities, and the reference part is quite good for looking up something you can't remember properly.
