He took long strides as he crossed some of the rogue territory, his heart was light due to the fact he had found who he had been looking for, his father, the one nad only god of war. A powerful god called Mrost, his father, but now K'Anatak was confused, on what to do about everything.

K'Anatak had mastered his gifts to the best of his ability, worked on them everyday, tried to get better. But now he wished to know his purpose with them, what his duty was with them, what he was to do everyday, instead of searching, instead of wondering what to do.

It was darker now, it had been nearly sunset when he had left an the area close to where he had found Mrost, but now it was night, pitch black sky that matched his eyes, the stars twinkling in the dark midst of the endless abyss of the sky.

He wondered if his mother sat among the stars, was looking down on him, if she was proud he had found out who his father was. He wondered if she could see his brother, how far away he was, what his intentions were, but alas, he was answered with somplete silence.

K'Anatak sat down by a large pool of water, some green grass spurting up from the edges, he looked at his own reflection. It had been a wihle since he used his powers on himself, he rather hated it though. He was searching for a new answer, a friend to guide him to tell him what he was to do.

But when would they come?

Bathsheba flew through the evening sky, the cool air caressing her wings. While the limbs were not required for flight, it made it much easier and far more graceful then doing it with simply magic. And she was on patrol at present and needed her bearings. Feint tugs of different responsibilities and duties tugged at her heart from below. All living beings had them, but some had stronger ones then others. Those were the ones that called out to her more loudly then the rest. But so far none seemed to require her attention.

Until she dropped a few feet before catching herself again on an updraft as the shock wore of. A powerful duty and confusion lay below her. It was tangled, but extremely strong. She banked to the left and circled down to the ground to see who it was. She had to drop a few hundred feet before reaching the ground. She put out her wings to allow her to land elegently, her violet eyes watching a familiar god with skeptical eyes, "K'Anatak?"

K'Anatak was still lost in thought, searching through the memories he ahd to try adn piece together what he thought was broken into puzzle pieces, thinking that if he put them together correctly, he could find an underlying symbol or meaning that would help guide him, but he still didn't understand.

Only with the voice of a familiar one did K'Anatak snap out of his trance, black eyes falling on Bathsheba, a smile on his maw, though his blackened eyes held confusion and dissaray, "Evening Sheba," he hoped she did not mind him calling her that, he was tired, confused, wasn't sure what to do.

"How are you these days? It's only been a short time since our last encounter, have you helped any souls?" he was trying to ignore the fact that he was the one who probably needed her help most, but she probably already knew, already sensed it, that's why she came here.

"I'm confused Sheba...I seem...at a loss of what to do now..."

Sheba watched him with a critical gaze. She was almost unsure of what to about this...for never before had she met a god that needed her help. It painfully reminded her of her own days, lost in what she was supposed to do. She had had to learn the hard way. She was torn between slapping on her hard composure to keep the pain out or softening with empathy. She cursed herself for still leaving her skills and habits unrefined. She had come a long way from her childhood, but her journey was far from over.

Slowly she murmured, her voice rather monatone and her violet narrowed slightly with effort, "You're a god. You do not know what to do...? We have, perhaps, the easiest way of knowing what we must accomplish, even if our tasks are far more difficult then that of mortals." She did not shift or fidgit. "What does your domain tell you?"

K'Anatak was truly lost, he felt, like his purpose of what he was to do had evaded his mindset. He felt weak to ask for help, even if it was from his friend Sheba, least she would help though, least she would help him. "Perhaps the easiest way, but still, it's hard for me to try and realize with all these messed thoughts in my mind Sheba..."

He closed his eyes, trying to think, what his realm was telling him, what his domain was urging him to do? Hmmm, good question, he wondered sometimes, what made him feel empty. He always believed it was not knowing who his father was, but he had found his father, it had to be something else then.

"Tells me to help others, but I've been trying to, most, don't wish for my help...but something feels like it's missing...a duty I'm not seeing...and I don't know what it is, and it eats away at me on the inside Sheba..."

Sheba looked out at the distance, her eyes seeming distracted. His duty was right in front of his nose and yet he didn't wish to see it. Perhaps it was because it seemed to hard or impossible. But that didn't make it any less real. "You are the god of reflection," she replied simply, "So it is your duty to help others reflect who they are or what they've done, isn't that right? Many won't want to know. Many won't want to uncover their past or face their own fears or tramas. But it is your duty to try anyway, no matter how many times you are turned away or put off." Her voice because soft, but was hard for the last bit, "It will probably not be easy. But Duty rarely is."

K'Anatak understood what Sheba said, but it was still so hard for him. He knew a few he could try to help, but they seemed to not want it, or he wouldn't want to hurt them at all by trying to help. "I've been trying, to get used to it, something still feels empty, even with that hint of what my duty is...am I forgetting a part of what I am to do Sheba? Or am I over reacting? I know my duty, everyone's duty is not easy, but suddenly for me, it's too hard to figure out among the clouds in my mind..."

Sheba felt a stab of irritation in her being. She could understand someone being confused about what life demanded of them, but complaining about it or not being able to except it was entirely a different matter. "Stop complaining," She said sharply, her tone becoming rather scolding, "So you don't like your calling? Well most don't. So you think its hard? Most think so too." She gave him a very firm look, her violet eyes hard like gemstones, "Your problem is you balk at what you have to do. You shy away from the fact that everyone might not love you for what your duty is. That is life. You won't feel whole until you accept it and realize that not matter how many dislike what you do it is for the better."

K'Anatak looked at her with slightly confused black eyes, she was so stern, strength and irritation in her voice. But she was right. He was complaining, he just wasn't accepting the fact of what he was supposed to do, wasn't the greatest or easiest thing.

"You're right..."

His voice was quiet, embarrasment in his tone, he had been so blind all this time, it took another meeting with Sheba to open his eyes of what he was supposed to do. He had to help others, do something good for once, and just get to it without pushing it away so much.

He stood up and stretched, then stood with his back straight, his fur slightly puffy now, wings outstretched a bit, and he bowed his head to her, "Thank you Sheba, you help me a lot," his eyes never left hers as he bowed his head, then he raised it again to look at her eyes.

"Anything I can do for you Sheba? Before I go out and try to do what I am chosen to do? I wish to repay you somehow..."

Sheba shook her head, giving him a tight smile. Perhaps it was because she felt a throbbing headache coming on. Or perhaps it was because the entire conversation had made her weary. "No need," she replied simply, "I was doing my duty, after all." Besides, the only way she imagined he would try to repay her would be by offering his...talents. She needed not to reflect on her past, nor the personality she kept on a tight lease. Things worked best as they were. She added tentatively, "I'm glad to have been of assistance."

K'Anatak tilted his head at her, she seemed so serious all the time. Even if she was quite old like he was, she still appeared young, there should be fire in her eyes and heart and expression, not ice. What made her so stern, should he pry? Well, she did say he had to do what his realm told him too, he was to help others, perhaps...perhaps he could help her too?

"Don't hate me..." he said taking one last look at her as he closed his black eyes, he masked his aura to make it appear invisible, but it was cool to the touch, it created a blanket over him, and he drove into her mind, perhaps even making a cooling sensation on her forehead.

He saw things, many things, a few be brought to the front of her mind for her to see, her passion when she was young, the fire in her heart she had then, that she had with her friends, until they left her when they gave theirs lives in serving their duty to their pride.

The image blurred a bit over time, a picture of smiles and laughter of her friends long past fading into black. He opened his eyes, aura disipating back into him, so many things, seemed everyone suffered a tragedy.

"Is that why? Because of them, that the fire is gone Sheba?"

Sheba took a startled step back as she felt an odd sensation in her head. A shudder racked through her body and a grimance rose sharply to her lips. When it was done she shapped her eyes to look at him. Where before they had held a bit of simpathy, if impatience, now there was nothing but cold fury. "I said to do your duty, but not here and not with me!" She snapped fiercely, her voice filled with ice. It was true she often seemed monitone and stiff, but rarely did she ever try to cut herself off from people completely and grow cold. Right now she struggled to keep control of her wild temper, something that had been a plague to her in her childhood. So she did her best to numb it and grow a little frozen.

"Nothing is gone," She snapped, barbs in her tone, "I am the better for it. Nothing was because of them, it was my choice and continues to be so. Do not pry again."

K'Anatak took a step back, wings curled close upon his back. Why was she acting so strange now. She had just told him to do his duty! No matter if others did not wish for it to come upon them or if they tried to push it away...what was going on? Was she trying to say something else, or was she just trying to hide from the fact she might need his help afterall.

"Better for it...how etter for it if the Sheba they knew nad cared for was a fiery spirit, wouldn't they want you to still be firey even now?" he stopped and shook his head, "You ask me to not pry again, I will not pry now, perhaps someday, things might change..." he looked at her with a sad expression adn turned around, black eyes focused on some distant place he wished to be.

Why did he make such trouble for himself?

"I'm sorry, I hope someday...you cna forgive me, for my duty..." he began to pad away, steps against the earth. He would not fly this time, would walk, make his legs sore. He had failed another once again, he would punish himself for it.

Sheba turned sharply biting at her tongue as she flung her wings open and took flight. He knew not what he spoke of. He thought her youthful self had been full of fire. That was true, but not all fire is good. Some is destructive and wild and does more good then harm. That was what she had been. He said her fire was gone and she felt insulted by the comment, for she did not believe so. She believed that instead she had found a way to harness it. He said she needed help. She thought he was wrong. She had never felt more in control of herself before. Perhaps he was doing his duty, but he needed to better interpret what he saw.

She felt a small swell of guilt for scolding him for doing what he was supposed to, but it was brushed aside by her anger that was getting the better of her. It seemed she would be in a bad mood for the rest of the night.
