Ellen blinked. These things were making everything go round around here? No way... A thought struck her. "How much do they get paid?" She really needed the extra cash adn if things like that could work here, maybe she could too.

Rikkel shook her head and sighed "They don't get paid anything. They have to work for the school. The headmaster owns them, I guess." She wondered if this girl was muggle-born like her. But then decided it was because she was an american that she didn't know any of these things. "Don't they house-eleves where you come from?"

"How should I know. I don't do politics." Confusion spread across her face. "They don't get paid? They're owned? What, slavery? That's nuts." Ellen pouted. She really needed the money.... She noticed that her bag was gone as well and started to panic. "My bag! That little theif!" She started running after the house elf. No one took her bag without her permission. Her trunk was one thing, her bag was another.

Rikkel had never thought of it as slavery. It had been strange at first, but she quickly got used to it. Her eyes went wide with panic. "Ellen, stop! She's just taking your stuff to your room." She dove at the girl easily tackling her to the floor.

((Oooo.... that was a bad move..>.<)) Ellen's instincts took over when she was tackled. Her leg swung around and it threw Rikkel off in an instant, leaving a small bruise on her. Ellen's eyes went from a normal red to a blood lust red and she looked as if she was ready to tear whoever she saw's head off. She'd been in too many fights in her life and now it showed how much skill she had. She was on her feet again almost instantly.

Rikkel was back on her feet, ignoring her sore shoulder. She had her answer, foe. "Bloody American, don't you know anything? I've never seen anyone so stupid. Is that why they kicked you out of all those schools? Because you're stupid?" Her wand was clenched in her fist.

Ellen's eyes narrowed and fell into one of many tai quan do stances. She was ready to fight, even if it did get her kicked out again. Thankfully, the teacher stopped her. "That's enough! Ms. Johnson! That is no way to act to another student! I shall have to tell the headmaster. Detention and fifteen points from hufflepuff!" Ellen glared at the teacher, then eased up. She was a fool to not notice her watching the fight. She eased out of her stance and bowed respectfully to the teacher. "Yes ma'am." She stalked away from them and followed the direction of the house elf. She still wanted her bag back.
The teacher turned to Rikkel. "You should no better Ms. Rikkel(I'd say her last name, but I forgot it). Ten points from Ravenclaw. Please be nicer to her, she's had it rough. Now off to your dormitories."

Helena's interest turned to the two students who had suddenly started fighting in the middle of the Hall. One from Ravenclaw tackled a Hufflepuff who seemed to take offense to a house elf taking her belongings up to the dormitories. They looked about ready to start throwing magic around when one of the teachers broke it up. She was tempted to go after them, but she decided to go up to her dorm instead. She'd missed the feast anyway, so she might as well go and see if she could get something to eat from one of the house elves before going to bed.

Rikkel wouldn't argue with a teacher, so she sulked up to the Ravenclaw tower. Now she had started the year with two enemies.

Helena walked into the Great Hall, still bleary-eyed, in search of breakfast. As usual, most of her fellow housemates just gave her dirty looks, but those few who had taken Dumbledore's words to heart were smiling at her and waiting for her to take a seat.
"Morning, y'all." She yawned again. "What's new?"
"Besides the end of the world and Malfoy's stupid pranks?" her best friend Kelly shrugged. "Not much." She smirked, and Helena laughed.

The short ravenclaw fourthyear walked into the greathall and looked around. She often lost track of time, what meal was it? Either Breakfast or Dinner, It was never this dark or this populated at lunch. Allison sat down alone at the Ravenclaw table.
Looking at the food on the table, she decided it was breakfasttime, from the food on the tables. HashBrowns were not a common sight at dinner. Allison took some of the hashbrowns, some sasuage, and several eggs on her plate.
She started to eat quietly, pausing now and then to take a drink of orange juice to wash it down.

Idril stared at the fight between the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students. 'Really, at this time in the morning!' She rubbed her eyes and sat down to a helping of sausage and eggs. 'I hate mornings.'

'I have to say, nothing like a bit of a fight to start the morning' Nicolette thought to herself. As she was helping herself to some hash browns she noticed out of the corner of her eye the bustling life of everyone, "how can everyone be so full of life?" she asked out loud. She didnt expect an answer so she just tucked in to her serving of food.
She paused in order to have a glance around the hall for someone amusing...
so often already this year she had thought how boring life was, it needed some spicing up. Nic attempted to catch the eyes of a few promising prospects by hitting them with a killer smile, but to no response she just gave up for this morning...
