Severus cuddled into Remus's warmth, hiding his face against the werewolf's chest. His hands slowly came up to rest on the other's chest as well, just under where his head was. "Thank... you..." he murmurred.

"Get some sleep, Sev," the werewolf murmured, pressing a kiss to the top of his mate's head. "You need your rest." Actually, they both did, truth be told, but Remus wouldn't sleep for a while yet-- there were too many thoughts he tried to put aside.

"Remus..." Severus hated to press his Gryffindor werewolf... but... It was still driving him crazy. Hecate's words wouldn't stop echoing in his mind. ".. Are you... positive... that it wasn't me..? I.. I don't have to be here... I can leave..."
Well.. Hecate for one would have been quite glad to know that his words had brought back the Slytherin's insecurity about himself. The younger wolf seemed to prey off of Severus's weaknesses and past.

Oscuridad led the way to the Nest, through the wandering perils which came with the place. The creature was used to the way and ignored the raging firestorms, the tornadoes.... all of it. He just led Polie towards the water, towards the nearly freezing place where there were watery things...

The polar bear followed Oscuridad closely, beady black eyes looking shiftily around as they walked through the wandering perils, trying to keep as close as possible without getting too close. Not that Polie had any sense of personal space. In fact, the bear rather liked having no personal space. If he had a sense of personal space, then he wouldn't have his first friend, and first cuddling partner, Nathan.
Black eyes grew wide at the site of the area where there was water. The bear quickly stepped out onto the ice, paws spreading out to balance his weight, and acting like a pair of snow shoes. Giving a soft, delighted rumble, Polie made his way to the edge of the water. Shedding off the coat and pants, his body was covered in a thick layer of short, creamy-white fur. Stepping into the water, the bear sucked in a deep breath, and went under to swim about as if he were, once again, a polar bear instead of a humanoid animal.

((Just ignore the bottom portion-- that's happening at the other place on the Nest. >>; )) Oscuridad smiled as he watched Polie dive into the water. Some people enjoyed the cold a lot, it seemed. As for Oscuridad, he had his own ideas of what to do here. Slipping into the water himself, he called out to the creatures in the deep, speaking in the tongues known only to true animals and the few who'd learned them, commanding the strange creatures who resided in the Nest areas to leave Polie to his playing, to not harm him. After all, it wouldn't do to have the tiny big one get into trouble.
Beneath the water, ancient and newer creatures swam-- fish, yes, but also beings there were no names for, strange monsters which seemed to have risen from myth and legend. Dinosaur-like creatures and those who were more than fish and less than human played together beneath the waves.
~*~*~ "Wakka…" Lulu started, his voice gentle, but hesitant. How could he speak to Wakka after everything had been said, everything had been...
"Lu-- don't," Wakka refused to look at the unicorn. "I know how it is, y'know? Things… they're not… right. It was a stupid idea."
"It's not that, Wakka," Lulu protested, taking a seat next to the bunny on the pier on the lake within the woods of the Nest, staring out at the cold water. Part of him wanted to touch the other, try to comfort him, but… it didn't seem like the right thing to do right now. Lulu didn't want Wakka to run away now-- they needed to talk about this more than anything.
"Lu, it's fine. It's cool," Wakka shrugged, wondering about the water. The cool, frozen water-- you could dive in and never be found again. Icy water stealing the air from your lungs as you struggled towards the surface again-- it wasn't so different than what he was feeling now, right? Shocking cold slipping into numbness.
"It's not that I don't care about you--"
"Like I said, it's cool. Just… don't, Lu. Please."
Part of Lulu wanted to protest that it obviously wasn't fine, but Wakka's quiet plea stopped him at the last moment. The blitzball star was going through something right now, something Lulu couldn't help because Lulu really had caused it… not that he'd meant to. It just happened.
This wasn't a world where decisions could be made hastily. This world reeked of something being wrong, and… it didn't have time for gentler emotions right now. Between taking care of Tidus and Yuna and how they were tip-toeing around each other and avoiding the other individuals from Spira who might traumatize the younger ones, Lulu was feeling the burden of being the mother-figure a little much. And Wakka wasn't exactly the ideal father figure, what with his tendency towards the crazy stunts.
That's why Lulu had told him-- not now. Not yet. Maybe in time, but… right now they couldn't be mates.
There was so much between them… Chappu… and they were closer than close. Lulu didn't see why they needed a word or such to define their relationship, but… if they needed that definition, this wasn't the time to think about it. Their relationship had been so close, and now there was something between them that was… well, broken. Less than true to itself.
Why had Wakka had to say it?
He couldn't… he couldn't stand to be around Lulu right now. There was too much to think about, and Wakka had never been the best at thinking. Diving into the cold water-- Lulu knew better than to worry about Wakka in water, after all, even freezing water-- Wakka swam and swam, leaving Lulu behind.
