I live in Illinois and this weekend my band's at a competition in Minnisota. =[ I however came down with a case of bonchitis the other day and have been forbidden by my doctor to travel under the circumstances. Basicly, I was devastated about this. I tried reasoning with my doctor that it was vital for me to attend this show, but even I knew I shouldn't go.
Have any of you ever had to miss an important show or competition? Were you as upset as I am right now? crying

I haven't missed a competition but I have missed a football game because I was sick. I begged and pleaded with my parents so I could go and that I felt much better but they wouldn't let me.

Hm. Nope. Never missed a performance. But I do advice you to try to listen to those doctors sometimes. I almost had to go to the hospital because of something like that... I would say I learned my lesson, but if the situation came up again, I still wouldn't let myself miss a performance.

I haven't missed one, but I almost was considering not playing during our last week's competition...I had a horrible case of the hiccups about 30 seconds before the first down beat of finals, and it was so audible the audience could hear it....it was really embarrassing. I can just say I really did not want to be there at that moment.
