My first impressions of the GiB were that it was a very BUSY organization! It had agents popping in and out, reporting for duty diligently. It was very impressive indeed. The members there weren't comfortable answering any questions, but quickly referred me to the founder, The Iron Magus. He was eager to answer all of my questions.
The Iron Magus: I heard you have some questions for me.
Shui: Yes. I'm from the ANN (Alien News Network) and I'm conducting interviews with the members of various organizations. All of your members said I should talk to you.
The Iron Magus: Sure, I'd be glad to do an interview.
Shui: Awesome! First question: How do you (the GiB) feel about being mentioned in the big announcement about the Halloween Plot? Was it a shock?
The Iron Magus: It was definitely a shock. I wasn't expecting it at all. I like the way they put one line:
"The GIB are committed to gathering as much information about the aliens as possible, in an attempt to head off any possible annihilation that the aliens may have in store."
That sums us up in a nutshell. I wasn't very happy with being called "shadowy" or non-trusting, but all in all I was pretty thrilled that we got mentioned at all (even if it seemed somewhat negative).
Shui: Many people are wondering why you halted new membership. Were you having internal problems with new radical members, or is it a different reason entirely?
The Iron Magus: We halted new membership because the guild was just getting too hard to handle. This has actually been my first time running a guild, and I just had to cut it off somewhere, or it would have been utter chaos.
Shui: Will the GiB be continuing after the Halloween event? (I think people would like to see that)
The Iron Magus: Will it continue after halloween? I think it's safe to say that there won't be as much for us to do, but it looks like it will.
The guild was actually lent/donated to us by Agent B.O.D., aka BrotherOfDarkness. I have contacted him about possibly buying the guild from him outright, in order to keep things running.
With the lack of plot that is sure to follow, we would probably become more RP oriented. In fact, a friend of mine who is experienced at running an RP guild may be made "Master of RP," so to speak, and he would help give us some direction.
Shui: Most gaians who know of the different organizations believe that the GiB is completely against PETU, probably because of the way the announcements were phrased. What do you REALLY think of PETU?
The Iron Magus: I have respect for PETU, in that they are so determined to make peace with the aliens. My agents and I (most of them, in any case) would also like peace; the main difference between us is that we are also prepared for war.
Shui: In our interview with PETU and its members, ilymandias (the founder) commented that most of your higher-ranked members seemed to agree with the PETU ideals and opinions, while the majority of your newer members seemed radical and out of hand. She suggested a better screening process or application process to prevent this from happening. What is your response to this statement?
The Iron Magus: A better screening process? Yeah, I'll admit, I could and should have done a better job with that. The sheer amount of people joining was overwhelming, and at first, I was so happy that so many people were willing to rally to the cause of protecting Gaia, that I (naively) assumed that that was the only qualification they really needed. However, I've been doing what I can to weed out any "bad apples" in my group. While doing that, I have run into another problem: Do I ban some of the more militant ones, and risk a good chance of ruining the event for them, or do I risk the bad PR and keep them on, if I feel that they're basically good kids, but just misguided?
In the end, that decision has never been easy.
Shui: Do you have any closing statements? Anything you'd like to let Gaians know about the GiB in particular?
The Iron Magus: Remember, Gaia, we're made up of folks just like you. And we ARE here for YOUR protection.
There you have it, people. The GiB is made up of normal,very friendly people who are willing to share information with us in order to keep us safe. Also, remember that the GiB is also working towards peace, and is only preparing for war as a defense (aka GiB is not anti-alien).

PETU
My first impression of PETU: Friendly. PETU was very nice about doing an interview for the ANN. There seems to be less confusion here than there was in the GIB. What does the founder have to say about that? Read this exclusive interview!
Shui: Hello. My name is Shui and I'm from the ANN (Alien News Network). Is there a PETU member here whom I could interview briefly?
Takaho (#43): ANN? I would give you some info but I'm not all up to date on whats going on at the moment.
[ASP] Pengu (#40): Same here...I've been busy with school lately and I couldn't follow everything...
Shui: I'll mainly be asking about your involvement in the organization, how you feel about the aliens and other organizations, and how you would like the general public to see you.
Takaho: ah stylish.......sure go for it Pengu will you help me out?
Shui: Thank you! First, how do you feel about your recent mention in the Announcements? Were you surprised at all that you were featured?
Takaho: erm pretty damn happy lolseein that this is my first halloween on gaia and to be in the storyline's and newsletter its so kool
[ASP] Pengu: I felt...special...
Also, I felt happy, proud...
Ilymandias was probably way more excited than me tough, since it was her that did PETU.

Takaho: I have my thoughts that some may to try and attack but our pal 09 should help us out.......if he comes back.
Shui: Hi! I'm just reporting for the ANN about your organization. If you have to leave quickly, could you maybe just give a message to our viewers? Maybe about your personal views of the aliens or about what your organization stands for?
ilymandias: It's already been proven that the ships themselves have very mixed intentions - 11, 06, and possibly 05 seem quite a bit hostile, while 09, 02, 12, and the Mothership all seem quite friendly. It seems Mothership's having some trouble keeping them all in line and on the same page~
At this point, I don't doubt that some of their number will attempt to take action against Gaia. All PETU can do, however, is try to show that peace really is the only way we should coexist. D:

[ASP] Pengu: Personally, I beleive that the only thing that will be destroyed is gonna be the new Gambino Mansion (Yes, I do think there will be a new one...)

Takaho: if they are going to destroy anything its going to be in the Barton Trench.
Shui: How do you feel about the G.I.B? Do you agree with the way they are handling things? Are you really completely anti G.I.B as some people make you out to be?

Takaho: guh GIB, don't like them even if they have id cards i'm not bothered. Handling things? I don't tend to sneka up on them and check out what they are doing however what i am weirded out about is how 07 is an ambasador as we don't know 07's intentions I'm not sure about what to think. I'm trying to sound as neutral as possible but if I liked GIB i would have joined them however PETU is my choice so there.

As I said on the first page, PETU itself isn't against the GIB, or many organizations, for that matter. Everyone should have their right to do as they believe. However, many of their members do have the frame of mind that PETU is against - senseless judging before you know the truth. The more organized members of GIB have told us themselves that they support PETU. It just seems that they have issues keeping all their members on the same page - almost ironic that that's the same issue with the Zurg, hm?
Personally, I think they should have been more careful with who they let enter, for their type of work - a screening process of some sort, or applications. They're just a tad too powerful to be letting just anyone wander in. Because of that, their actions in the past have given them quite a bad name... I believe they're trying to clear it, though.
[ASP] Pengu: The only persons that bugged me so far are the persons that are violent against the UFOs for no valuable reason
ilymandias: Exactly. Many of their members take the "guilty until proven innocent" route, opposed to the opposite, which is PETU's point of view.

ilymandias: Closing statements~ Just that, when one looks at it, Gaia is really a mini reflection of earth. People will act the same, and use their same methods of judegement. The way some people have reacted to the UFOs concernes me - and it's diffucult to doubt that they wouldn't act the same in a real situation such as this. However, the kindness many have shown, The Believers included, has really surprised me. Underneath it all, my true wish for PETU is that people will carry this attitude into the real world.
This event has deeper meanings than many realize.

Important News Update!!
According to the Gaians in Black, Mother has warned all Gaians to prepare defenses and be safe. The GIB have been taking her advice while unsure if what she said is meant as a cautionary warning or a malicious threat. PETU is remaining sure that the aliens are not hostile.
Alien 06 has declared the end of gaia, according to the GIB.
Mother has mentioned that she has lost control of her sons. She claims to not endorse her son's "crazy" ideas of taking over Gaia. She acknowledges that some admin are missing, but that they will not be harmed.
Alien 05 claims that Gambino has created a new energy source which the aliens are seeking. It is possible that the recent reconstruction of Gambino tower may be linked with this energy source.
And lastly, triangles of cows are slowly appearing around the world map; most notably in the crater, but other less intricate trinangles have been spotted as well. It's known that the aliens have a fondness for cows and triangles, but why the cows are in triangles around the map and for what purpose is still a mystery.

Anyways, 09 reportedly made a comment about Zurg and its past. Apparently some time ago there was a great apple war. Those of Zurg defeated the other race in the conflicted but the people of Zurg stood divided. That's when the hero MOOF came and stepped foward. He was able to reunite the people of Zurg.
