Mimi's dying and that's the first thinks Roger to say? I liked the NYTW Finale better.

Well, I think he was in denial or disbelief...like, he wanted to block out what was happening.

I'd change Mimi's "death" from the part where Roger insists on playing a song to where Mimi is describing turning back...it's too cheezy.

I would NOT have cast Rosario Dawson

There are plenty of Mimis that are better and more believable

And also, I would have included all of Goodbye Love and Halloween

And also, I would have faded in a "Thank you Jonathan Larson" after the picture of Angel at the end faded out... that would have been really touching

Yeah, I agree... they should have kept all of the songs in the movie, I mean it's already so long, the audiences would have enjoyed another few minutes of movie. And the alternate ending is SOOOO much better with Angel coming back.

And I think that they should have killed Mimi off... although that would have really sucked for Roger, having two girlfriends killed off due to AIDS... cry

Would've killed to have "Do A Little Business" in there. Well, not really, but it would've been funny. "Video franchiiise"

Also, I think they should've not have Mimi twitch back to life. I started cracking up. That and having "Christmas Bells" in it would've made it bundles of fun. Singing homeless=win

Oh yea, two things from the NYTW hat I would have kept in

Mimi: I should tell you benny wasn't any-
Roger: I know. I should tell you why I left, it wasn't cause I didn't-
Mimi: Don't go!

I think the "don't go" is so much more touching than "i know"

And I would have kept Collins' little "farewell, Angel" speech, but I have no clue where to put it.

They put the dedication to Jonathon Larson after the credits, but I agree with you on where it should've been placed...the commentary said that they wanted the audience to concentrate on Angel and such...

Well, I think that Mark should have found SOMEONE...(so I wrote a fanfic about it...)

I'd change some of the lyrics, particularly "think twice before you poo-poo it." It's enternally mocked.

I agree. I made some of my friends listen to it and they were all like "yeah this is cool" and I was really happy.
But then...
You'll See came on, and they heard that and they all started laughing and I was like NOOOO!

Alright. I'm just going to say it:
I'd have changed 'Your Eyes' ninja

I mean, sure, it's beautiful music, and a touching song, but the lyrics...soooo anti-climactic for a song Roger's just spent the entire show finding. I know, it kind of works and makes sense to have it be so awkward but...something a tad bit more would have made me happy.

And I would have changed a HELLUVA a lot about the movie, but we won't go there.

Also, I think a bit Benny would have been nice. He seems to be on the line between main character and background bit...

I hate at the End of "Rent" when they say "Rent, rent, rent, REEEEENT!" The first time I saw it I was totally like, "Not another cheesy musical!!!!!!"

They should have kept the song "Goodbye Love" in the movie the full version...it is beautiful song with lot of emotion. It also say a lot about the character Mimi and Roger and Mark. How could they cut it out?

I think they should have used the alternative ending because it links to the beginning of the movie, and mimi should have died scream !!! Or if she didnt die, she should no way be talking about that light, too corny stressed . I also think they shouldnt have deleted Marks scene in the cemetery, but perhaps im just being bias, because i love him so 4laugh

I think Mimi should have died or not been so cheesy.
And also, after you almost die, you don't get up that fast. She'd be there for a lot longer. After a few minutes, she can't just get up and sing. It's not that easy.

Agreeing with Musical Mimi about keeping the full version of "Goodbye Love" in there; actually, most of the deleted scenes in the movie probably shouldn't have been cut out, such as "Halloween" and maybe even the part where Angel was telling Benny about how his/her cat fell out of a window and died, when Benny asked her/him, "How'd you know she fell???" XP

Then there's "Contact," but then again, not really sure how to put that in without it probably getting bumped up to an R-rating.. o_o;;
