The paragon's child and the paragon's enemy. What two souls could be more opposite and unalike? Right? And yet Ebon, the shadow-walker, and Alantie, the sunshine child, were sisters. In blood (albeit a strange way), in heart, and in soul. Their paths were different, one rising from the shadows to embrace the light, and the other turning away and falling from that light and grace, but they walked the paths side-by-side...even unto death.

Alantie
The White Lady and the Dark Paragon

User Image
  • Name: Alantie Tairis
  • Age: Late teens
  • Race: Celestial
  • Eye color: Blue
  • Skin color: See pictures
  • Body build: Slim and slender, like most celestials
  • Hair color/length/style: Golden-blonde, long and slightly wavy
  • Clothing: Allie always prefered dresses. Before she was weighed down with the paragon title, she would wear brightly colored clothing, but after the title began to take its toll on her, she began to wear darker, somber colors like black and dark blue.
  • Armor: None
  • Weapons: Before she gained the Paragon title none, but when the title became hers she also recieved and carried the pure snow white sword that came with it, though it was often said it looked out of place on her when she dressed so brightly.
  • Jewelry: See reference pictures for ideas. She does have a triangle shaped pendant of platinum on a platinum chain which is the symbol of Paladine.
  • Character Personality: Before the title took its toll, Allie was a bright, bubbly, happy person, the kind of person who could make you smile just being around her. However, when the title began taking its toll on her, she became harsh taking the concept of what was good and just to the extreme. It was as if the title made her -need- to enforce justice upon the multiverse, no matter who it would affect. It was that need to enforce good and justice that made her hunt her own mother and led to her death.
  • Class: Alantie has natural talents as a bardic singer and was able to tap into a powerful form of raw magic through the sound of her voice, though she also had some experience as a cleric of Paladine.
  • Other:

Description:
Before her fall:
Alantie Tairis, or Fallen Light in Celestial, stands at a tall five foot nine in height, her form slender and graceful. This is shown off to an amazing and flattering extent by the simple white dress she wears, fluted to fit tightly to her natural slender form. She wears long, deep sleeves on her arms, her left wrist owning two bangles in gold. About the waist is a wide woven belt of blue ribbons, the ends of which trail lovingly down her right hip. The shoulders of this amazing dress are across, rather than covering, leaving her shoulders free. The back swoops down slightly to allow movement of her wings. Underneath she wears flat white slippers, tooled in silver.

Her skin is naturally tanned golden, all over and with any single flaw seen. Her slim neck is captive to a triangle shaped necklace in platinum, the same device tattooed into a collarbone (left). Her face is oval, with a straight nose, a mouth not plump nor thin, with the hint of roses in it's hue. Her cheekbones are high, tumbled about with golden curls. Large eyes that look trustingly upon the world are a silvery pale blue, lined with bright gold lashes, golden eyebrows arched in amusement. Her hair, to mid back, is half braided with blue ribbons, the rest left unbound in a golden river, down between her large, feathery white wings...

After her fall:
True like a staff of fine yew stands she at a height of five feet and nine inches. Gilt in shadows, she walks verily in the light to which she has pledged her troth eternal. Her face oval shaped and lit up by a smile where roses sleep on her lips and make soft glowing spots of colour on her golden skinned cheeks. Her nose is straight and ne'er hampered by break or scar, setting up her high cheekbones and those large eyes ringed 'round with golden lashes of sun. Bright blue they be and shone without with implicit faith, arching those golden brows as she smiles easily and sweet. Hair tumbled round a face loosely shines with liquid highlights, golden as the sun on a fine summers day. In amongst those strands of light come woven braids up and about the back of her head, pale grey ribbons gilded with electric blue spanning and sneaking through thereabout. A voice to match the countenance, sweet as honey and yet clearer than day, with hidden pools of deep and secret magic lurking within that very voice: a powerful instrument, to be sure.

Slim she is, as yew saplings go, emphasised by the clothes in which she does choose to gown her form. An intricate shirt of black cut in the daring style, with hardly any back, a close moulded front and no sleeves at all to speak of. Threaded over the bodice are winding thorns of gold and shimmering grey-silver, the same like to be found on her gloves built of ribbons and soft satin, rustling as she moves. Her waist is enclosed and captured by polished steel and darker chips of frystalline, a chequered pattern over the slimness. Her hips too are narrow, enhanced by her deep skirt, cut for riding and walking down each side. The material is fine and threaded round the hems with sword patterns, darkest grey to border on the raven black with hidden sheens of blue as the light dances over it. When shifting aside those skirts expose her slim legs, slippered in shoes with an upturned top to mid calf and fastened with delicate belts. Finished, save her charcoal grey wings that whisper with each step...

Ebon
The Shadow-walker Redeemed

User Image
  • Name: Ebon Moridin (Black Death)
  • Age: Indeterminable (in DnD terms she's considered a construct of sorts and thus doesn't age). Appears in her early 20s
  • Race: Viyach Lemarg Slayer (reincarnation of Sena)
  • Eye color: (Pre-redemption) Solid white, iris, pupil, and all (i.r. she does have an iris and pupil, but you have to look extremely close to see them, and from any distance her eyes appear solid white with no iris or pupil.) (Post-redemption) After her redemptions, her irises darkened slightly to a very light grey. Her eyes still look almost solid white from a distance, but when you look close you can see the grey of her pupil.
  • Skin color: (pre-redemption)Pallid and sickly pale, almost gives her an undead look except her skin is still smooth, it's just as if someone took all the color from her skin. (Post-redemption) She is still extrememly pale, but she has a little color and life to her skin
  • Body build: Slim, before her redemption she almost has a sickly look about her (though being a construct she has unnatural strength)
  • Hair Style/Length: (Pre-redemption) Ebon's connection to the Shadows has yet to be severed Because of this, her long straight hair takes on the wispy appearance of shadows floating in her wake (i.e. her hair might look solid until down closer to the ends where it fades off into nothingness). (Post-redemption) Ebon's white-gold locks no longer have that wispy, shadowy appearance. At the artist's discretion, her hair may be a little more wavy as well.
  • Unusual Features: (Pre-redemption)She's missing her right arm, but often covers it in a veil of shadows to appear like a glove covering it (Alantie hated looking at it, and so did she). With her connection to the shadows waning because of her disobedience, though, the glove-sleeve may appear insubstantial (and she can't, in fact, really use the shadow-hand as it passes through solid objects as if it weren't there). Also, the tattoo on her left arm is very visible, standing out in blood red against her unnaturally pale skin. (Post-redemption) Her arm has been healed in recompense for her redemption and the tattoo on her left arm is faded to a scar on her skin instead of standing out so.
  • Clothing: Ebon always wears blacks or shadowy colors. After finding Alantie her clothing style changed to match her newfound sisters (dresses with skirts just above the knee). After her redemption she still wears blacks, but embroidered with patterns in bright silver.
  • Jewelry: (Pre-redemption) Ebon wears the same necklaces that Sena possessed, a prismatic dragon's scale on a braided cord of black hair and a platinum infinity loop on a platinum chain. (Post-redemption) In the final process of her redemption, Ebon had to give up those items and no longer wears them, though she may wear another small piece of jewelry at the artist's discretion.
  • Weapons: (Pre-redemption) Ebon carries the golden scythe of a Lemarg. (Post-redemption) Alantie's present to Ebon after she was redeemed was to purify her scythe and turn it into a weapon for good. The golden shaft is much brighter and, on command, Ebon can reduce it to a small foot long rod for carrying at her side. The blade of the scythe is where the real change can be seen for even with the shaft extended to its full length, there is no material blade on the end, but instead a shaft of white-gold energy in the shape of the scythe's blade.
  • Character Personality: (Pre-redemption) Ebon is morbid and silent. She almost never smiles and even when she does smile, it's a cold and cheerless thing. After finding Alantie, she becomes a sort of stoic guardian, shadowing Alantie to protect her. (Post redemption) This morbid streak in her changes after she finds redemption. She finally sees joy in life again and can smile warmly. Her appearance doesn't seem so monotonous either, despite her continued preference to clothe herself in blacks and dark grays.
  • Character Preferences: Ebon only really cares for one thing, her sister Alantie. Her she cares for above all else, even her own life.
  • Class: Sorceress

Description:
Pre-Redemption:
Parting shadows reveal a possibly familiar prescence as your eyes sweep the room. Born of all things twisted and dark, she stands as a reflection of that which created her. Shadows seem to form the lengthy tresses of ebony that decorate her head. Skin of pasty white gives the ghastly feeling of a lack of life, though breath fills her lungs. Thin lips marked with fine lines of stress belittle her smile, making it a cold and cruel thing, despite any warmth she puts toward it. Cruelly carved into the skin of her left shoulder, a mark forever stained in red depicts a bold 'S' run through vertically by a sword and crossed by a scythe. Seeming almost out of place with her appearance, a pair of feathered wings hang from her shoulder blades, her clothing always curved to allow for them. Her haunting eyes are seen to be pure white, lacking a visible pupil, and reflection-less. Her most defining physical feature, is the lack of her right arm, the appendage missing to mid-way between her elbow and shoulder.

Her clothing complies with her grayscale appearance. Formed as her hair, but textured conversly, the wispy strands form together into the shape of a simplistic, nearly sleeveless, black knee-length dress, the ends of the skirt trailing off into nothing a bit behind her. The left arm of the dress is non-exsistant, the arm covered instead in a lengthy black glove that gives the appareance of a disconnected sleeve. The right arm is sleeved, covering the shoulder and extending down the arm to cover the grizzly stump of an arm left, giving the appearance that the arm isn't missing, but completely gloved. The evidence of the missing limb is seen in the that the glove-sleeve moves through solid objects, unable to touch, feel, or grasp. The same wispy strands cover her feet solidly in knee-length boots. Two amulets around her neck break the nearly monotonous apearance, one an infinity loop cast in platinum on a study chain length of the same, and the other a prismatic scale hanging from a silky braided cord

---
Post-Redemption

What the eyes behold before them seems, perhaps, an impossibility. Smiling jubilantly is a face of familiarity to those who have gazed it before, though memory recalls it not as a vessel of happiness, but as a ghastly visage of evil. Could this really be the child of all things twisted and dark? Look closer and see for scarred upon her left shoulder, faded to near invisibility that tricks the eye to pass it, is the mark of her dastardly heritage; a sword slashed vertically through a bold S and crossed by a scythe, recognizable as symbol of the Slayer of Light. Step back and see the changes in her warm face, where alabaster skin is no longer cold and pale, but shines with radiance and warmth, and eyes that were blank and white are now pure, proving to be palest gray upon close surveyance. Crowning her head where once shadows danced in her wake lies a cascade of white-gold tresses, left to fall straight around her face where unpainted lips so often find cause to curl into mirth.

The clothing chosen no longer seems to whisper of shades and darkness, despite its melanic hue. A sable dress glistening with small entwined threads of metallic silver clothes her bearing a ruffled knee-length skirt with a neckline that curves over the right shoulder before dipping sleevelessly under the left. The skirt is hemmed in material of silvery-gray, the neckline embroidered in matching thread with scriptic patterns. Behind her the dress dips to allow for a pair of pearly white wings that now seem to completely belong to her. A full length glove of velvety black sleeves her left arm coming to rest just at or below that mark of sins forgiven, a matching one meeting the short sleeve over her right arm, healed by the grace that found her worthy once more. The top of the gloves is embroidered in a similar fashion as the neckline. Covering her feet are simple matching boots of a length to meet the hem of her skirt. Finally a belt is cinched 'round her waist holding a small jingling pouch and a short shaft of gold on her right hip and a sheathed sword on her left. Take a final glance at her face and it all becomes clear. The shadow-walker is redeemed...

Ebon and Alantie's Relationship

It was fate that conspired to bring Ebon, the shadow-walker, and Alantie, the sunshine child, together. It all started with the death of Sena. When she perished in the lava pit, her soul stone was terribly marred, but not completely destroyed before the Shadows could retrieve it. Thus, while they could not bring back her soul and body as they were, they could reshape her and remake her into something else, the perfect Slayer of Light, a killer and soul-collector with no equal. Thus the shadows set about their task. They reformed the broken soul and stone of Sena, adding and taking away as they saw fit. They discarded the old, the memories, the remnant, and magnified the loyalty in Sena, the dedication to her cause. Then they formed the body. Black blood, magical in its properties and taken from Bhryn, a celestial who the Shadows themselves had tried to twist in her birth, the formed a mirror image of the vibrant paragon with pallid, stark white skin, long tresses of black that writhed like the shadows themselves, and a pair of feathered wings darker than a starless night. Her eyes where purely white, a throwback to the unreflective black of the paragon's eyes. In this constructed body they placed the re-formed soul of Sena to bring her to life. They called their creation Ebon Moridin, which is to say 'Black Death", and sent her out into the multiverse to collect more souls for the Shadows.

However, the reborn Slayer of Light had one major flaw. When the Shadows magnified her loyalty, it strengthened her loyalty not only to them, but to the sister she no longer had. Even that would not have been an issue, except for the Paragon's daughter.

Alantie, vibrant and warm with not a a violent bone in her body, was everything good of Bhryn, her mother. However, magically aged as a child, she never had the chance to grow up and so remained child-like at heart. It was because of Bhryn that Ebon and Alantie met. After happening upon the paragon in a multiversal marketplace, Ebon found the first conflict of interests. She hated Bhryn uncontrollably (as Sena did), and yet at the same time she felt an odd kinship with the woman from whose blood her body had been created. She found it difficult to be in the same space as her unorthadox 'mother', as if some imbalance in the universe screamed to be righted when they were around each other.. When she met Alantie, on the other hand, there was only sistership. Ebon believed she had found the sister she was missing, and though Alantie was hesistant and even a bit frightened at first, she too came to take Ebon as the sister she'd never had.

That was the beginning of everything going downhill, for the Shadows couldn't abide by their re-created Slayer taking to a celestial of all things. Ebon was given an ultimatum. Either she must kill Alantie or be killed. Try as she might, though, her loyalty to Allie was too strong now to sever. She tried multiple times to kill Alantie in her sleep or somehow to where she wouldn't cause her pain, but she never could bring herself to do it. Angered by her disobedience, the Shadows stripped her of her title and abilities as a Slayer and in the battle that ensued, Ebon lost her right arm to Vile Reaper's scythe. Unwilling still to kill her sister, Ebon fled with Alantie to Celestia. There she found some measure of protection as the Shadows could not directly reach into Celestia, however she and Alantie faced several obstacles from the Council wanting to lock Ebon away for the good of Celestia to Ebon's intense dislike of the general 'goodness' of the place and her almost addictive desire to return to the Shadows. They perservered, though, even through Alantie regaining the Paragon title from her mother and thus once again becoming Celestia's guardian gatekeeper.

Time saw many changes in the pair. Being in such a place of goodness eventually began to rub off on Ebon as slowly she learned it wasn't neccessary to kill for killing's sake, though her general outlook still disagreed with that of most celestials. Alantie on the other hand began to grow a strong sense of seeing the right thing done no matter the consequences. As the paragon title weighed on her more and more she turned from the pacifistic sunshine girl into the duty driven paragon. However, the worst was yet to come.

The details are lost to telling, but at some point Ebon's need to reconnect with the shadows overcame her, and during that point Alantie fell from grace briefly, her wings changing from their brilliant white to a charcoal grey as if they had been covered in soot. Both came back changed, but in different ways. Alantie's drive for duty went to an extreme. The only way anyone could be good was if they did things exactly as Alantie thought they should be, and anyone who didn't measure up was deemed evil and persecuted harshly, earning her the name "Dark Paragon" where once she was the "White Lady". Ebon, on the other hand, started down the path to redemption, needing to be good enough in her sister's eyes and fearing she wasn't.

It was this shift which led to their demise. Alantie could only view the sword her mother carried, Ragnarok, as evil, and because of that so too must her mother and those associated with her be evil. It was that which set Allie and Ebon on a whirlwind campaign against Bhryn, striving for her death to atone for her sins. Somehow even through the bloodshed, Ebon found redemption and acceptance. Her scythe was purified into a weapon for good and she found a new outlook on life. Still desperate to please her sister, though, she set off with Alantie to find and destroy Bhryn, believing it would be for the good. The battle was fierce, but without her connection to the Shadows strengthening her abilities, Ebon found herself outmatched by the celestial swordmaster. A sword through her heart ended her life, but even as she died she smiled because she had found redemption. Allie too faced Bhryn, but even though Bhryn was wounded from her battle with Ebon, she proved her skill by defeating her daughter and slaying her as well. Having slain both her daughter by flesh and her daughter by blood, Bhryn laid them side by side and cast a spell which would consume their bodies as their souls found peace in the afterlife together.

Alantie's Prophecy:
This was the prophecy Alantie made concerning herself and Ebon
Two houses both alike in dignity, in this fair land where we take our scenes... from elder grudge to break to new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, a pair of star crossed sisters take their life, whole misadventures piteous overthrows.. do with their death bury their parent's strife.. the fearful passage of their death marked love.. and the continuance of their parents rage.. which but their childrens end, naught could remove. Is now the lives of our traffics stage! The which, if you, with patient ears attend..what here shall amiss, and we ourselves, struggle to amend...
