No, actualy. Most of the newer medical dictionaries do not carrey the term child because it, by definition, encompases a human being thorugh out his/her life time.

Sorry Pyro, but she's right. According to CancerWEB's online medical dictionary,

Quote:
child

A person 6 to 12 years of age. An individual 2 to 5 years old is child, preschool.

CancerWEB, and as you can see the definition is from 8 years ago. Alot of the dictionaries have changed since then

Um, dictionaries don't change definitions very often. Especially not on something like the definition of when a person is what. That would be ridiculous; There are people still practicing medicine who were practicing medicine in 1998. A lot of people. What, do they get a memo that children are no longer children, but rather pre-pubescants?

And who cares if it's CancerWEB? We used dictionary.com before.

...o.O Look who's talking! You're the one insisting, against proof mind you, that child is not a medical term!

Just because it's a medical dictionary does not mean it changes frequently. Again, that would be ridiculous, especially with such base terminology.

I never said it wasnt a medical term. I said it was a term that many modern medical dictionaries no longer use to desribe pre-pubescents and teenagers..

Pyro
well then of course the fetus isn't a child. Hell, no one is a child in medicine.
confused

Either way, it's silly to be nitpicking about this. Who cares?
