"Okay, there are more people. Good." Sarume wholeheartedly agreed that the group would be able to defeat the bandits. "But before we start, I have a few quick questions." She turned to look Jin directly in the eye. "Have you even launched an attack on the bandit camp before? Even just once?" Now the big one. "Does their leader have any special...object...in his possession?"

She reached out, and knocked lightly on the side of the tree before leaning in, allowing her nose to pass along it, as she made faint 'hif' sounds, sniffing at it.
"Nice Maizen. You make a very beautiful tree," paying no mind to it, before reaching into her pack, and pulling out a long gauze, tying it in a massive bow around the tree, before patting the side of it, and nodding to Nero.
"Thanks, I appreciate it," hands spread just slightly, "But I dunno if I'd be a good leader.. we'll just have to wait and see what everyone says.

As she turned to look at Nero, there were some odd creaking and sinewy-stretching sounds as Maizen returned to his fleshy, weaker, human state. His fire seemed to have cooled, even if he didn't smile. "Thank you, just please keep in mind my words for the future. The dying will be more than pleased to assist you in your training." He shifted the bow in his hair to sit on the back of his head. When he wasn't jittery or upset, he sounded more or less confident and collected - cool, even... it wasn't an easy thing being the voice of Nature, especially not when placed upon a child.

::the Harper has disappeared during the groups discussion upon who out of their numbers should lead them. No one else seemed to have emerged or even acknowledged their presense there, they were along amoung the tents for the length of their conversation::
::As Maizen shifted his new bow an elderly man and a young girl, about their own age, stepped out of the tent. The man stood straight, his grey hair pulled away from his face, tied back in a pony tail. His skin was tanned like old leather, his eyes a deep green. The young girl at his side was also a deep tan with ebony hair that was pulled back into a braid, her eyes were a matching green::

We had not launched a full scale attack such as this before, merely small raids, annoyances that would lure out the bandits. As far as items...
::Jin ran a hand over her chin for a moment in thought::

Although the color was wrong, this confirmed that the bandit leader possesed what Sarume was looking for. "This operation is going to be different," she thought. They were going to finish off the bandits once and for all, or at least make them stop attacking the village. The less death involved, the better. Come to think of it, Sarume had never asked if that approach had ever been taken.
"Other than actual attacks, has either side ever attempted negotiations without violence?"

Maizen drew up short when he noticed where they were, let alone that they were just confronted by the village's people. Some fine ninjas these Students were going to make if they didn't even notice that... mentally kicking himself, Maizen steered himself around in a U-turn, sidling in to the middle of the group. The healer's place was never in front of the party, after all.
"Er, team? We have a bit of a situation." He'd returned to his meeker, more amiable self - moods passing like seasons.

"Ah, I see. Then I shall not push the matter any further." Fighting while in low spirits would only work to their disadvantage, and the group would need as much of an edge as possible. Sarume patted the new pouch she wore around her waist. "Well, that said, I am ready to depart whenever it is decided." The young kunoichi had no clue how far their target was, but they had to time their trip correctly so that it took place at night. And they had to move carefully. Although the raiders wouldn't expect an attack, that didn't mean they wouldn't launch on of their own again.
