Nothing bothers be more than closet racists. If you are going to be racist, be open about it, so then I can openly hate you, and pity you cause you are so ignorant. Anyways!! Scenario: On Monday we had a 'party' in class for reaching our academic and attendence goals. Me and a girl from my class went to get pizza for the party from a local pizza place that is in 3 minutes walking distance from the school (We drove cause we had to get 10 pizzas). So on the way there, we turn into the little strip mall thingy and a boy (he was black) said, "Hey! Slow down. Wait please." And she kept driving.. I'm thinking to myself, I wonder what he wants.. if I was driving I would have stopped. Anyhow, we go get the pizzas and are leaving and we pass the boy again. As she is about to turn back onto the street he says, "I was just going to ask if you had jumper cables." The girl from my class hesitates and asks me if she should help him, cause she had jumper cables. I told her if I was in her situtation I would. So she reverses and while she is parking her car she tells me, "Ah. I'm afraid he's going to like. Shoot me or something." .... I couldn't help but just stare at her. I'm sorry, but not every black person wants to kill you. Heck, he probably didn't even want to talk to you. If you don't know, I live in Colorado Springs. Minority population.. let's not even discuss that! The area I was in was open. There were students walking back from lunch, and you can see the school from the location. I could understand if you were out in the middle of nowhere and someone tries to wave you down - I've seen way too many scary movies for that. Haha.. But yeah! It turns out jumping his car didn't work. He thanks us for our time and our willingness to stop [snort;giggle;laugh]. And then he tells the white girl I was with that he was sorry if he scared her, and he wasn't trying to holla at her or anything.. which made me laugh some more.
Discuss; -Incidents with closest racist you have. -How stereotypical and ignorant that girls comment was. -How unfortunate it is for me to live in Colorado!! Lol -What would you do in that situation?

I cant really say anything because I don't know how the kid presented himself. If he had a gun or something I could understand but otherwise that was pretty ignorant. But what can you do? Racism exists, As long as they don't harass you in anyway shape or form, or talk to you, Then its no concern to me.

I doubt closet racists want to be open, since they will get either beaten down or sued by whom ever they racially insulted. It's just the world in the 21st century.

I..unfortunately...live in Forsyth county georgia...I'm the ONLY black female senior...and I'm from New York...there are many people here that are open about it...it's the ones who aren't that I don't like...I can't even explain the amount of situations I've been in that shows me how ignorant the people here are...they would say stupid things like..."so where you lived....did you ever see anyone get shot?" or "your from new york?...did you live in the ghetto?" I'm so happy I'm moving back...if I don't I might loose my sanity.

I forgot the name but it was about a black girl getting raped by two white men in alabama. She was reading it out loud. Books/events/movies like that sometimes "ruffle my feathers" if you will and EVERYONE was staring at me. I kindly asked her if she could stop reading and choose another book cause she was making me uncomfortable. She stared at me like I was crazy...so I just walked out before I lost my temper. I probably handled the situation wrong but I was upset.

It happens, alot. White guys steal and "pop caps" just as much if not more than blacks do. It's just that the media loves protraying us as dangerous so people like you would act as you are behaving now. Also...food for thought...HOW MANY BLACK PEOPLE DO YOU SEE AS SERIAL killers...I had to do a project on it and I barely found one.

I must admit I would feel a little leery of someone in that situation myself. Personally, I find it difficult to really trust anyone...especially if it involves stopping on the side of the road and getting out of my car to approach a stranger.
In Zodiac's case, dispite his wry remark, he seems to be using stereotypes to aid in his decision-making process, which many of us do, whether we realize it or not. "Oh, I'm not going to give my change to that homeless man muttering to himself outside the convenience store because he will probably use it to buy drugs, cigarettes or booze." neutral While this may make us feel safer, it doesn't make it right.
I do hate the whole "beating around the bush" or "closet racist dance" that people seem to try to pull. Though, I would think that being obvious or open about any racist feelings you might have in a public setting might be embarrassing, or considered distasteful, or even hazardous to your health, (as Lupin points out), especially around the people your are disriminating against.

I get what you are saying, I guess I didn't state it in my first post.. I'm too lazy to re-read it to see if I did. Lmao. But the boy who asked her to stop had a younger brother with him that goes to our school. There were also students walking in and out of Little Cesaers. We were in the parking lot of a shopping complex. Mind you, if it was the middle of the night, on a desolate road, I would keep on driving. But it wasn't. He'd have to be bold to pull something with a High school in plain sight, aswell as many cars passing by.

Zodiac - have you seen the movie Crash? If not.. watch it please. Nice suit and tie? How pathetic? So only people with intentions of harm dress casually? Mmm. What about that white woman who killed her own baby, but blamed it on a black man? Because of stereotypes and generalizations like the ones you obviously support, URGH. I'm just going to pretend you didn't say that. I'll leave my anger behind on this post.
