It was one of those rare times when the Mias young mind would stumble upon those many memories locked away.
When she was alone, and when she was uneased, they would flash before her, she could still remember the scent of blood. The cub gave a shiver. She knew the pain would ebb finally, but she felt so terribly affected by what had happened.
Then it was gone, like the sun behind the clouds to emerge at a more suitable time, within her dreams perhaps, though dreams of such content were described more as nightmares.
The chocolate female curled up tightly, her tail wrapping its way about her body. "One two three four five six." It seemed her fascination with counting and numbers had not subsided. When she was scared or frustrated she'd count the things around her, or when there was nothing she ran through her siblings, matching their faces and names to numbers.
Though the sun shone on her dark back, she felt nothing, content for the moment and her eyes closed over pools of deep scarlet.

It was one of those rare ocassions when mother and father seemed to loosen their worries, to let the cubs wander freely again. All that Jing understood of the situation, though, was that someone bad had tried to hurt one of his beloved little sisters, Xu, no less, perhaps the most dear to him of the three girls. She had never tried to hurt anybody, she didn't even so much as get angry, but someone tried to hurt her. He was young, but he found that he was so angry that he wished he were big enough to find who it was and do something to make him sorry for what he did.
He was told that someone his age shouldn't have to feel that way, that it shouldn't have happened, and he should learn to let go of such animosity. Well, he certainly was trying, but he was a big brother first, and anything else second. It did mean that he tended to be more protective over his family, but today-- today Ausi'juu insisted he try to make some new friends. Maybe he'd have some luck today...
Jade eyes scanned the area, white ears perking as the young male caught the sound of a young girl's voice, counting. He became curious, blinking and shifting his path just enough to trek towards the dark body he could make out now in the distance. He only caught glimpses of her from where he was, but it was just a few moments until he reached her, and smiled.
"Hey..."

"Mmm." The cub gave a small whimper and uncurled, her bright red eyes running over Jing. She didnt recognise him, but stood and spoke to him still.
"Hello.." Perhaps this was what she needed. Her father had tried his best to give her an understanding of the mind, but at such a young age some things were beyond her understanding. She knew putting things off might have helped herself to forget, at least for now.
"Whats your name?"
