Yakuti had fallen into the routine quite nicely, every moring he would wake up and go on a patrol of the graveyard, catch something to eat, and patrol again. The adolescent hyena happened to be on his second patrol, in a considerably happy mood considering he had found a family of stupid rabbits to munch on, more than he usually got to eat.

With a full belly and high spirits, he thought nothing could bring his spirits down, heck, nothing short of killing a lion could make him any happier!

His air of confidance was sickening, he didn't slink about the bones as he usually did, but instead strutted along his usual route like he owned the place.

little did he know that his frolicking spirits would soon stop their dancing to stare at today's 'problem' that he was going to meet.

Where was this place? He had not seen it before, it seemed...darker, then everywhere else K'Anatak had been. The white god continued along his path, black eyes trying to make sense of this place. It was so dark, shadowed, seemed like everything here had a darker purpose, a darker meaning. Why had his search brought him here? He hoped to one he seeked was not of a blackened heart and deteriorated soul...but he would only know when he found him.

Since he had been traveling, K'Anatak had tried to help who he could, met a few others, even conversed with a goddess or two...didn't help one too well, but he tried He was always trying. Perhaps one day his luck would change, and he could actually help someone who deep down, wanted to change.

What was this? Close they were, struting about? Strange. Odd. But something was drawing the god close, perhaps her could help this one? Or perhaps they could help him, guide him in the right direction, tell him where he was,
"Excuse me..." he spoke softly yet sternly, hoping the blue mass would notice his voice.

Yakuti turned his head at the sound of the voice, his face turning into a snarl as he saw who had spoken it. A lion! And it had wings! Great, maybe he could beat on it to make the best day ever even better.

"What do you want, lion? He asked, putting particular emphasis on the last word. He despised the creatures, he'd been tought to hate them.

The blue hyena lowered his head agressively and started towards the god, ears pinned back and his fangs showing. They were still bloodstained from his meal not long before, it gave the impression that he was a vampire of sorts.

He watched this hyena closely, he hadn't come into contact with one in a while, did all of them hate lions? This one sure seemed to. "I didn't mean to intrude...I'm merely lost on my way somewhere...where is this place?"

This was interesting, K'Anatak ruffled his feathers and extened his wings out, to give the appearance of him being even more large then he already was. He didn't like fighting much, he had already had a fight with the dark goddess a little while ago. K'Anatak still hated the smell of blood, hated when he ahd to fight.

"I do not mean you any harm...my name is K'Anatak," he watched him with black eyes, they were lifeless, but still looked on, perhaps he should dig deep...try to help him? But what if it would fail this time just like the last? He could try...couldn't he?

"Aw, poor kitty is lost and can't find its way?" Yakuti mocked to the much larger lion. He seemed a bit like a pushover, or at least a softy. Though he was sure that if forced to fight that the white lion could take him out with one swing of his giant paw...

"This is the graveyard, the land belongs to Mafa and those loyal to her, everyone knows that." He said with a smirk, beginning to circle the lion.

"That much is obvious, but for any intruding lion, the punishment is death." He said, his words laced with malace and hate. "I care not what your name is, nor do I think you care what mine is. I won't waste your time." He said, watching, waiting for the perfect chance to strike...

This hyena had the attidue of his brother, full of himself, willing to jump into a fight any chance he got, and had an outward hate towards anyone different from him. Perhaps his brother and this hyena would meet one day and get along.

"Well I did not know, I am traveling, have not been this way before..." his eyes watched him as he began to circle him. K'Anatak sighed and concentrated, a thin white aura beginning to cast over his feathers, "Death does not come my way too often, besides, I am a not just a lion, but a God..." K'Anatak's oice was getting stronger, he did not wish to fight, if he had to, he would merely hover over the hyena, out of his reach.

"What might be your name? Strength is in your heart...why hide a name you should be proud of? Why so much hate within yourself towards others?"K'Anatak wanted to pry, see what he could do to help, but if this hyena was stubborn, he wouldn't be able to help him at all.

Yakuti smirked, stupid lions, didn't know anything other than themselves. "Fine, but God or not, you are not exempt from the laws of the land." He said, having fun teasing his quarry, though not as much fun as if they had an effect on him...

"My name is Yakuti, if it'll shut you up." He said, rolling his eyes, "And not others, just lions, your kind drove us from everywhere else, keep us away from their lands, and yet they still seek to take away the only place we still have, why should they be allowed onto hyena territory when we cannot go onto theirs!" He barked, close to losing his temper completely, why did lions have to be so ignorant to their own cruelty?!

He was beginning to understand. Perhaps Yakuti was raised this way, raised with hate in his heart, a darkness over him. He had such potential though, such strength in his body, if only Yakuti could see the true possiblities that await him.

"Perhaps other lions did that, but I have not...why should I be punished for a wrong doing of others I do not know and did not help Yakuti? Land is precious, yes, but anger and hate drive others into being greedy, which causes the feuds that fuel battles, war and death. Others have no knowing of what some do...why should we be punished?"

K'Anatak stood his ground, how could he show Yakuti he meant no harm, meant no disrepect and respected him? Perhaps a demonstration of pwoer maybe? "What must I do to earn your trust Yakuti?"

"If we battle with the lions we will win and regain our honor in the world, we are strong in our numbers, we can take them all down one at a time, I don't see how that would hurt us." He said angrily, why did lions try to be nice to him?

He stopped his circling and stared at K'Anatak, trust? He couldn't trust this lion, "If you want to earn my trust..." He began, struggling to think of some rediculous task he could make him do, humiliate him, perhaps put him in a situation where the entire pack was on his tail.

"I cannot trust a lion, not even a god, let this be your only warning, none of the other hyenas will even give you a warning, you will be attacked on sight, and even I cannot allow you to leave unchallenged." He said, lunging towards the white figure with all his strength and speed.

He aimed to injure one or both of his wings, his powerful jaws might even be able to break part of the bone if he hit it right. If he couldn't fly, he would be like any other lion, at least thats what Yakuti thought...

Such darkness and hate, he would never be able to gain Yakuti's trust? Pity. K'Anatak saw strength and perhaps an ally or friend in teh blue hyena. Perhaps another day thigns might change. He searched within Yakuti for a mere moment, digging within the adolescent, he wanted to be strong evidently, amongst other things.

K'Anatak watched with black eyes as Yakuti lunged, maybe he could let Yakuti feel some power before using his own. K'Anatak winced only slightly feeling Yakuti bite into his left wing, then he ripped it away and took a side step, glaring at Yakuti. A silver white aura went over K'Anatak's wing, healing the feathers and broken flesh over.

"Is that all you want from me? to taste my blood ocne and try to kill an immortal Yakuti? WOuldn't you rather have an ally at your side hmm?" Perhaps this was a lost cause today.

Yakuti felt a hint of satisfaction as he tasted the god's blood, but his anger renewed as he saw him heal. Now there was no way at all he could defeat him, not when he could heal himself...

"I would NEVER ally myself with your kind!" He spat, standing with his mouth wide, but not moving. It would be stupid to keep at this, it would many pack members to take down a god, it was futile.

"I know what you're doing, the last time I met a lion who tried to gain my trust it ended up being the ruler of those lions who invaded our lands! The Maziko scum, their leader tried to make me trust him so I wouldn't attack, but it doesn't work!" He barked, blinded by his rage.

"Go on then, fly off to someone who cares for your words, I will not be so foolish as to fall for the false kindness of your kind."

This was pointless, nothing would come from this fight as of now. So it goes. Another day, another day they would meet again, maybe thigns would change from now until then, maybe a layer of hate would die down. Yakuti was mad at lions K'Anatak did not know, he didn't fully understand what happened between the hyenas and lions, perhaps he never will, pity.

"I am not them, they are not me, we are not all the same Yakuti," K'Anatak turned his form adn began to pad away, perhaps it would be best to fly from this area then walk. Fluttering his wings and extending them somewhat he turned his black eyes to look at Yakuti. Perhaps there was a way to help him and help another all at once.

"If it is rage in your heart, then there is one of the kind you hate, one of great power perhaps that could assist you..." perhaps Yakuti would understand, K'Anatak was speaking of the goddess he had met days before, the one he himself had fought with and had to flee from.

"Look to the skies one day and search for the black shadow...perhaps she could be some assistance to you," with that K'Anatak turned and flew into the sky, gray clouds were forming. A day was darkening, it might be better soon.

For now, he woulf fly on.

Yakuti shook his head, but within him the lion's words made some sense. They weren't all the same... But no, this was his lifestyle now, he had to drive the lions from the graveyard, it was his purpose... Not to mention that Mafa would be furious if she saw him going soft towards the beasts.

He sat down, the god was long gone, probably couldn't hear him anyway, but he spoke, mostly to himself. "I don't understand..." He sighed, "I never lose my temper exept for around lions... I've never snapped at another hyena, or even a wild dog... I need to learn, how can I fight well if I cannot control myself?" He asked, looking to the sky.

"Perhaps I will meet with the black shadow, if only to learn how to focus my anger properly..." He decided, standing up and walking back to his den to think on the whole encounter.
