What is the foundation of basic magick? I want to get started on learning about magic. can anyone tell me?

Eh, that's not something that has one answer.
What are you looking to do? Spiritual practices? Personal improvement? Poke at Things Man Was Not Meant To Know? Contact random nonphysical critters? Create bizarre entities? Find success, obtain money and get laid? Other?
What do you specifically not want to do? Would you have issue with paradigms that presumed the supernatural was literally true outside of valid mental constructs- or presumed it wasn't? Do you have any particular religious or philosophical obligations that need to be taken into account? Do you take issue with contacting entities you don't know? Do you even really have a set of beliefs on How Stuff Works- and if not, do you want one, or more, or would you prefer to stay as-is?

Don't want to encounter entities... self empowerment I suppose. white- greyish magic perhaps.
