DarcGothicTeddyBear
Well technically it's not refering to LOD it's refering to Final Fantasy 2 or FF4 for the one's who played it on the PS... It's talking about the dragoon knights such as Kain from ff2 not really talking about LOD.

what it says is, "Being the legendary foe of the wyrms, as told in The Legend of Dragoons"
Well, if you think about it, the wings of a Geruda kinda look like the wings of a Virage.

when you post the entire storyline in this thread...not guility yet...

Long ago, when the world of Endiness was only darkness, Soa, the creator of the world, planted a seed. This seed sprouted and grew into a giant tree called the Divine Tree. The Divine Tree eventually bore 108 fruits, which actually contained different forms of life and when the fruits fell, they brought to the earth a new life, a new creature. Soa wanted the fruits with the life forms to develop one after another until the last fruit, the 108th fruit, fell to the ground and brought the last species to world of Endiness. The last fruit contained the God of Destruction, a Virage Embryo which was supposed to destroy everything on the earth and allow life to start all over again. The 97th fruit contained the Gigantos, the 99th fruit contained the Minintos, the 105th fruit contained the Dragons, the 106th fruit contained the humans, the 107th contained the Winglies and of course the 108th fruit contained the Virage Embryo, the God of Destruction.

Less significant creatures such as Minintos and Gigantos created their own ways of life while Humans and Winglies set off to begin civilizations. Dragons, whose might was unmatched, had their abilities limited by Soa who reduced the Dragons's intelligence to that of a mere beast. A myriad of fauna and flora spawned from the thriving existence of all these creatures, and the cradle of Endiness was secured. The Winglies, whose powers could not be overtaken, began to build an empire beyond belief; stretching from the depths of the sea to the majesty of the sky. From the floating city of Kadessa, the Wingly dictator, Melbu Frahma, conquered all he sought, eventually capturing the gods themselves. He and his armies enslaved all life, using their submissive servants for labour, sacrifice and gladiatorial entertainment. At the peak of the Wingly dynasty, the Winglies had discovered magics so powerful and dark that they could rip the fabrics of reality. When the last fruit brought the God of Destruction, the most powerful species, the Winglies didn't want a being more powerful than them and therefore separated the flesh of the God of Destruction from its soul. They put the soul in a strong crystal sphere, that prevented it to fuse with the flesh, which became The Moon That Never Sets. The other Wingly leader (who led the base of operations for a more kind and civilized Wingly kingdom), Charle Frahma, the older sister of Melbu Frahma, designed five Signet Spheres that prevented the soul from reaching the flesh even further. The Signet Spheres circled around The Moon That Never Sets or the flesh of the God of Destruction. The evil Melbu Frahma drew unlimited power from his Crystal Sphere and plotted that he could destroy the signets anytime he wanted and free the God of Destruction. He created five objects of great power, known as Divine Moon Objects. Three of these objects, The Moon Mirror, Moon Dagger and Moon Gem were passed down as heirlooms in the impending human countries, but the other two were lost or destroyed in the course of war.

But, before Melbu Frahma could employ the Divine Moon Objects, the humans wanted to rise to fight against Winglies for their liberation in this world and to free the gods. Then the legendary miracle occurred; the souls of the Dragons. As a Dragon died, the humans learned that its immortal soul could be extracted in the form of a token, or gem. These gems gave seven heroic humans the ability to merge with the Dragon spirits and become Dragoons, or knights of the Dragon. The killed Dragon would respawn from itself and rise to serve its new master, much like the cycle of a phoenix. The seven Dragoons controlled the seven Elemental Dragons- fire, water, earth, darkness, thunder, wind and light. The seven Dragoons were Syuveil the Wind Dragoon, Damia the Water Dragoon, Belzac the Earth Dragoon, Kanzas the Thunder Dragoon, Shirley the Light Dragoon, Rose the Darkness Dragoon and Zieg the Fire Dragoon. The Humans rose to fight against the Winglies under the command of the leader of Holy Imperial Gloriano - Emperor Diaz. The humans were supported by Dragons/Dragoons and fought against the Winglies, who were supported by Virages- the winglys weapon against the dragons. The seven Dragoons fought against the Wingly leader, Melbu Frahma but five of the Dargoons- Syuveil, Damia, Kanzas, Belzac and Shirley- died in the final battle. The other two Dragoons- Rose and Zieg- still lived. Rose loved Zieg and was his fiance, but got separated from him while engaging the evil dictator in combat. Zieg thrust his blade through Melbu Frahma and watched the light leave his eyes. But as he tried to pull away, Melbu seized him, sending them both plummeting into the Crystal sphere, shattering it. Frahma's body turned to ash, and vanished in the rubble, but not before he cast his final curse on Zieg, petrifying him where he stood. For Melbu Frahma had a secret power- he could live without his physical body! Melbu Frahma stole himself into the Dragoon spirit of Zieg, hiding, as Zieg was frozen to stone. It would be thousands of years before the spell would wear off, but he could wait. Despite the loss of the six Dragoons (and the disappearance of Rose), the humans celebrated their victory, and began their new age under the leadership of Emperor Diaz.

But the humans made a mistake in the war- they destroyed the Crystal Sphere in which Melbu Frahma was extracting his power and in which the soul of the Virage was sealed. In the war the humans also destroyed one of the Signet Spheres and one of the Signet Spheres was lost. The Winglies were vanquished, disappearing by the thousands, and their empire crumbled. The once mighty land of Gloriano turned to a frozen waste, and humans left it behind in search of new and better lands. Three kingdoms were divided between the rulers of Gloriano, Serdio, Tiberoa and Mille Seseau, each country claiming one of the three remaining moon objects.

[edit] Story

[edit] Chapter 1: The Serdian War
The storyline of The Legend of Dragoon revolves around Dart's vendetta on the Black Monster, who presumably killed Dart's parents years ago when his village, Neet, was destroyed. Though this is the main quest, Dart eventually gets tangled in other affairs such as the Serdian Civil War. The story begins with Dart returning to his hometown after having spent years away as a mercenary. On his way home, he stumbles across the path of Feyrbrand, a giant green dragon controlled by Sandora. He is saved by a passing warrior woman named Rose. Upon arriving at his hometown, he discovers it has been attacked and his childhood friend, Shana, has been kidnapped and imprisoned by Sandora. He leaves his small town and heads to the prison to get her back. In the prison, he meets Lavitz and they team up to get Shana back. After escaping the prison and fleeing from the soldiers, the group decides to make their way to Basil to meet with Albert, the kind king of Basil and leader of North Serdio. In their travels, Dart explains that the Black Monster had attacked his hometown and killed his parents. The only thing he found in the village was his fathers ruby red pendant, which he always carries as a memento. Once at the castle, they are granted an audience with the king and he dispatches Lavitz to join the sixth knighthood as the first line of defense in Hoax and Dart and Shana of course go with him. Once in Hoax, Lavitz and Dart are waiting for the attack by the south Serdians.

When they are attacked, a Giganto (named Kongol) is aiding the forces and they must take care of it. When all hope seems lost, Rose flies in in Dragoon form and reawakens Dart's pendant, the Red-Eyed Dragoon spirit, transforming him into a dragoon as well. With Dart's new power Kongol is easily defeated. Rose then joins Dart, Lavitz, and Shana to go on the offensive and take out Sandora's main offense, Feyrbrand. On their way through Volcano Villude, they first encounter a legendary Phoenix known only as "The Fire Bird." They quickly escape from their attacking foe. Shana then has a problem which causes her to run off. She encounters what at first appears to be a stone figure. Rose explains that it is a Virage, and it is still alive after eleven thousand years. The Virage attacks. After the party defeats the Virage, they continue on straight into the fire bird. After another simple fight the group runs through the dragon's nest and Shana falls ill from the dragon's poison. The group continues despite her illness and find Greham, the man who killed Lavitz's father. They banter back and forth, and the enemy transforms into the Jade Dragoon. Feyrbrand comes to help his new master and the battle begins. After his defeat and a massive number of apologies, Greham dies. The Jade Dragoon Spirit then falls under Lavitz's control.

The group arrives at Lohan. They head to a doctor to diagnose Shana. The doctor cannot determine a way to save Shana other than a special medicine made from an herb, the Dragoni plant, located in the ancient ruins. Dart sets out to retrieve the herb. The way into the ruins' innermost sanctum is guarded by devious devices. After besting the traps, the group is ambushed by a thief named Drake. After battling Drake, they learn he guards and protects the sanctuary, and they finally meet with the temple's master, a ghost named Shirley. Dart explains the situation, but Shirley tells Dart that there is no Dragoni plant, but there is another way to save Shana. Shirley possesses the Silver Dragoon spirit, which has the power to heal, but won't give it up to Dart unless she knows his true desires. Shirley transforms into different people to ask the group various questions about their mission. After they answer correctly, Shirley hands them the spirit.

Back at Lohan, Dart uses the spirit to revive Shana. Shirley had informed Dart that only by placing his dragoon spirit next to hers could its power activate, but when he places it near Shana it begins to shine and heal her, indicating it recognizes Shana as its new master. They then go off into the city. A festival has excited the city, and Dart and Shana have a night on the town before he enters the Heroes Competition. There they meet Dart's old friend Haschel. Dart easily dispatches his opponents until he gets to the finals. A man named Lloyd is his challenger and a superior swordsman; Dart cannot even hit the man. Dart is easily defeated and amazed at Lloyd's skill. Lloyd leaves and the group begins to converse when a shriek comes from the town's entrance. A severely wounded Knight of Basil tells the team that Fruegel has attacked Basil and taken the king to Hellena. Lavitz, enraged, heads of to Hellena to rescue his king. Haschel decides to come with them.

At Hellena, security has increased dramatically, and the group has a hard time getting in again. After entering, Fruegel tricks the group and traps them in a room with a hideous beast. He goes down after a fierce fight, and the team ascends Hellena to confront Fruegel, about to kill King Albert. Lavitz interrupts their plans and the group battle with the cruel Fruegel. After a ferocious fight, Fruegel is defeated, but a mysterious man in black is seen extracting the Moon Gem from Alberts body. Lavitz rushes the man, changing into a Dragoon mid-leap. However, the man is armed with the Dragon Buster, a sword made to kill dragons. The Dragon Buster serves a similar use with Dragoons, mainly because of the dragon armor that they wear. After striking Lavitz, the man, revealed as Lloyd, runs off. With his dying breath, Lavitz tells Dart to survive and protect something, but dies mid-sentence. Albert assumes control over Lavitz's Dragoon spirit and accompanies the group to Seles. There, they decide to attack Kazas directly and confront Doel.

At Kazas, the group finds secret tunnels into the ominous castle and infiltrate. Dispatching guards and Kongol, who has come back for a rematch, the group enters Doel's chamber, where they try and reconcile with him to end the war. Doel won't listen and attacks. After fighting Doel for a while, he transforms into the Violet Dragoon and pummels the team with his newfound power. Doel is mortally wounded in the battle, and begins to inform Albert of the events that started the war and how he met Lloyd, and dies soon after. Haschel is awarded the Violet Dragoon spirit.

[edit] Chapter 2: The Platinum Shadow
The team follows Lloyd, the manipulator behind the war, to the kingdom of Fletz. There the team continues to look for Lloyd, but cannot get an audience with the king. After talking to Fester and learning about the Moon That Never Sets the team decides to head somewhere else to look for Lloyd. In the barrens, the party is jumped by a thief named Mappy, who steals Dart's Red-Eyed Dragoon spirit pendant. He flees and the party pursues him. In Donau, the party searches for information about Lloyd as well as Mappy. They don't learn too much about Lloyd, but Mappy is revealed to be part of a secret organization known as the Gehrich Gang that has taken control of Donau. Meru, a dancer of the town, wishes to see her home liberated, and forcibly makes herself welcome in the group, after having an argument with some men over whether they touched her butt.

The team heads to Fletz again to get permission to head to the Valley of Corrupted Gravity, but they need permission from the king. The team joins Fester, who is heading to the castle for a dinner. At dinner, the king grants them permission to go into the valley. Just then, Princess Lisa talks to Albert about her sister. It seems something funny is happening with Emille and she wants Albert to find out. The team promises to investigate Emille but first heads to the valley.

The Valley of Corrupted Gravity, a place of high conflict in the Dragoon Wars, was so disturbed that gravity itself is warped. After braving the challenges of the valley, the team meets another Virage, this one more dangerous than the last. The team moves on. In the Home of the Gigantos, we learn that the leader of the secret organization is Gerhich, Haschel's former pupil. The team breaks in, beats the guards, and confronts Gerhich. The ending blow sends Gehrich into a statue, which begins to fall with the team under it. Kongol, who has just arrived, grabs the statue and throws it away. Seeing Dart's strength has inspired Kongol, and seeing his master is dead, he wishes to follow Dart. Dart agrees and Kongol is welcomed. Before dying of his wounds, Gerhich tells the group that Princess Emille is a fake and the real one is hidden in the castle. After retrieving the Red-Eyed Dragoon spirit from the basement, the team head back to Fletz, which is under martial law. Along the way, the team returns to a merchant they dealt with earlier, who sells them a stone that glows in Kongols hands. It turns out to be a dragoon spirit. The team then returns to Fletz.

The group decides to investigate where the real Emille is. They are not welcome in the castle and sneak past the guards to meet with Princess Lisa, and then head to Emille's room. In her room, they discover a portal to another dimension, where the real Emille is. After freeing her, the group crashes a ceremony in which the King was presenting the Moon Dagger to the fake Emille. She is really Lenus, a Wingly hired by Lloyd to get the Moon Dagger. The team can't allow this to happen, and they begin to fight. Lenus has superior magic skills but the group still manages to defeat her. She laughs at their attempts and flies away with the Moon Dagger. The king congratulates the heroes and allows them passage on the Queen Fury, a ship heading to the town of Fueno.

The group has a wonderful time aboard the Queen Fury, as many have never been out to sea on a boat. A Phantom Ship appears and halts the party's progress. After boarding and fighting the ships ghosts, who were protecting the Moon Child, Princess Louvia, when she was killed by the Black Monster around the same time Darts hometown was destroyed, the team escapes, but Dart and Rose fall into the ocean. In an ocean cave, Rose remembers her lost love, Zieg, the original owner of the Red-Eyed Dragoon spirit. She remembers how they fought together with the other Dragoons in the Dragon Campaign against the Winglies. She falls asleep, only to be awakened by a dog and a boy named Pete. Dart and Rose follow the boy to his home, where they can make it to Fueno. At Fueno, the team regroups and begins their quest again. When they find that Lenus has retreated to an Undersea Cavern, they head there. Lenus gives the Moon Dagger to Lloyd. Confronting her, she changes into the Blue Sea Dragoon and summons a powerful dragon to aid her. The group fights off the dragon and takes down Lenus, and she dies only with regret for her love, Lloyd. Lloyd then has the Moon Dagger. The Blue Sea Dragoon Spirit is then claimed by Meru.

The group heads back to Fletz for a celebration. Dart talks to everyone, then has a tender moment with Shana. Dart begins to realize that Shana is no longer a little girl he can protect; she has become a full-grown woman capable of defending herself. Dart also feels that his brother/sister relationship has changed to romantic love.

[edit] Chapter 3: Fate and Soul
The next day, the group heads to the Queen Fury and onward to Mille Seseau, still following Lloyd. They head off through the Evergreen Forest and onward to the Crystal Palace of Deningrad. Here, the group meets with a strange man who has a library full of information. The group heads to the library to figure out what Lloyd is up to. They learn about creation, life, and death at the hand of the divine tree. They also learn more about Winglies and the Dragon Campaign.

Meru, however, is not with them. She decided to "see her parents." She heads to the Evergreen Forest and reveals herself to be a Wingly, and opens a portal to a secret Wingly colony in the forest. She is yelled at for coming back, for if one leaves, they may never come back.

Meru comes back and they are shown around the palace by an aide to the queen, who, along with the entire the castle, was attacked by the Divine Dragon, which they believe was recently released from its confinement by Lloyd. They are to find a way to slay the beast and have nowhere to turn, when Meru suggests heading to the Wingly Forest to ask the elders what to do. Shana then walks off then Dart finds her in a room with a shiny bright object. Then the White Silver Dragoon spirit rejects Shana and bonds with Miranda of the Sacred Sisters, who then replaces Shana in the party. The Winglies have weapons to slay dragons, but no longer have the Dragon Buster sword, as Lloyd had stolen it. However, they do have a weapon that reduces the effectiveness of Dragons and Dragoons, the Dragon Block Staff. They teleport the group to an old Wingly haven known as "The Forbidden Land", formerly called the "Royal Capital Kadessa".

Here, the group discovers the might of the Wingly empire. Immense technological advances and amazing monuments are here, but in ruins. They fight a powerful Virage, built for an intense battle, and finally get to the Dragon Block Staff. It is being guarded by the Grand Jewel, an entity of Wingly technology. The ensuing battle is difficult, as the Dragon Block Staff renders any Dragoons near useless. Once gotten, the team heads back to Deningrad, but is too late. The Divine Dragon has ravaged the city.

With permission from the queen and Miranda by their side, the group head to the Mountain of the Mortal Dragon where the Divine Dragon waits for them. They walk up the winding paths to find Lloyd in battle with the beast. He leaves the group to finish the Dragon, a task that tests the very fabric of their being. After a deadly battle, the Dragon finally goes down, but Lloyd rushes in and steals the Divine-Dragoon Spirit for himself. As he expected, it does not glow for him, signifying it does not recognize him as its master, but he is still able to utilize its power. He escapes the party and returns to the palace, where he kidnaps the queen. The party follows him to the Kashua Glacier and then to the Tower of Flanvel.

At the top of the tower, the party arrives in time to witness Lloyd acquiring the Moon Mirror through the queens forced assistance. They then engage him in battle. However, Lloyd has the power of the Divine Dragon Spirit and the Dragon Buster. Lloyd proves to be a tough foe. He is finally defeated, but it is revealed that he has been acting under the orders of the leader of the Humans from the Dragon Campaign, Emperor Diaz. Lloyd informs them that Diaz is in Vellweb, ancient city of the humans.

In Vellweb, the team discovers more information about the war, and about the creation of all the different races of Endiness, and how the Wingly hatred of humans has grown. Diaz meets our heroes in the king's chamber and reveals his plot. The Moon That Never Sets is actually the body of the God of Destruction, the fruit of the 108th race. The Moon Child is actually the soul of the God of Destruction, and its "blessing" is the destruction of all other forms of life. In addition, Princess Louvia was not the Moon Child, her twin sister was. Her twin sister is revealed to be Shana. After all that, he has another surprise: he is in fact Zieg Feld. Zieg was using the disguise of the emperor to achieve his desire of world destruction. Dart and Rose are dumbfounded, as they thought, respectively, that Zieg had died in the Dragon Campaign or at the massacre of Neet. For the first time, it is revealed to the party that not only is Rose thousands of years old and an original Dragoon who fought in the Dragon Campaign, but she is also the Black Monster, who resurfaces every 108 years to kill the Moon Child, although this time she failed to kill the right child. Lloyd, who had been accompanying the party and had delivered the Moon Items to Zeig prior to his revelation, is enraged at his deception and attempts to rush Zeig. However, Zeig easily overpowers Lloyd and drops him from a colossal height to his death. He then escapes with Shana.

[edit] Chapter 4: Moon and Fate
Determined to stop Zieg, the party heads to the Death Frontier, where it is said an ancient Wingly city is hidden. The Death Frontier is appropriately named; the land is desolate and the group has a difficult time traversing the sand dunes, sand pits, and the various monsters that make their home in this wasteland. However, the group arrives finally at the ancient hidden Wingly city of Ulara. Hidden behind a magical veil, the city has been hidden from the humans for fear that the humans will attack and kill the Winglies.

In Ulara, the party meets with an old friend of Roses's. She tells them that Zieg needs to head to the ancient Wingly cities. These cities were the Magic City Aglis, the Law City Zenebatos, and the Death City Mayfil. The party goes to each location but fails to protect the last remaining Signet Spheres, causing The Moon That Never Sets to fall out of the cosmos and crash into the Divine Tree. When the party reaches the Divine Tree, Virages appear from inside the moon and attack the party while on board Coolon, a great beast who flies the party around on his back. When the party reaches the moon, they are individually battled by their past, and finally, they reach Shana at its core, but not before battling and defeating the Super Virage. Zeig appears, steals Darts Dragoon Spirit, and engages the party. After the battle with Zieg, it is revealed that the soul of Melbu Frahma had possessed the Red Dragoon Spirit after his first fight with Zeig. After Zeig became un-petrified, he had never needed to use his Dragoon form until Rose attacked Neet. When he tried to transform to protect his family, Frahma was able to possess his body and set the events of the game into motion. Frahma uses Shana to initiate the merger of the Virage Embryos soul with his body, but instead fuses his own spirit with the Virage, effectively making himself the God of Destruction. Lloyd suddenly appears unharmed from his last encounter and battles Frahma, but is fatally wounded by Frahmas new form. Before dying, Lloyd gives the Divine Dragoon Spirit to Dart, and the Dragon Buster to Rose. The party defeats Melbu, but he launches one last desperate attack upon the party. Rose and Zeig stay behind, content to die together, in order for the rest of the party to make good their escape.

The tree and the moon are both destroyed and Dart and crew are free to live their lives. In the end, the cut-scene shows that a lake has appeared in the spot where the Divine Tree once was and on its shore, the Dragoon Spirits of the Red-eyed Dragon and Black Burst Dragon are together, symbolizing how Rose and Zieg are finally together

okay now i am xd

DM Draco Moondragon
I just thought of another one: You know you play too much LoD when you come up with your own Dragoon Spirit, complete with spell names and effects! I came up with one some time ago that was the Dragoon of the Moon. It's not quite like the White Dragoon. It's more offensive than defensive, but it is light-elemental.
Guilty! i came up with a Blood Dragoon but i didn't like the idea of it b/c it looked to much like Rose with the Red-Eye Dragon Spirit. XD
