Name: Aphrodite
Meaning: Aphrodite is the greek goddess of love. Her beuaty could shape anyone to her will, man or woman, and her love for trouble was past on to her son. She was so gorgeous that all the gods fought over her and so Zeus (her father) married her off to Hesphaestus, a god of the sea. (He was rather old and crusty) Her son was a spawn from Aeres (The god of War) Forbidden, but nothing was done after the fact. In typical greek literature there were 5 different versions of Aphrodite to pray for, 1 for each love and personality she gave.
Age: Her exact age is unkown, but she looks quite youthful, perhaps in her late teens.
Complexion: She leans on the high side of heights for Malu, though not to tall for that would distract from her beauty. Her body is thin, but it is apparent from the refined muscles marking her body she is far from frail.
Personality: She display one distinct personality around the Malu. A soft, loving nature, almost a bit seductive at times. Quiet when necessary, and hardly ever throws a temper. She needs it to distract them from what would be a disaster if the evident truth came out, her fear of the gods, and thus no religious bearing. A fate worse than being placed in any clashing packs.
Parents: Dehomde (Not a Malu in Existence) & Wetkyua (Not a Malu in Existence)
Lovers: --
Offspring: Eros

[insert Abandoned Gods Banner here]

The gods. . . the gods. . . the gods.

A whisper in the wind. A telltale scent in the air. They do exist, but they toy with your imagination. Forever ingrained into your mind, never leaving, never relenting. Destined for all your children to fall womb to this deadly disease. Its a curse.

These wings are a sinners task. I cannot face the consequences.

They all see them, these Malu, feel and love them. But I know better. I stay away. To see the hurt that they've caused. Blood feuds between brothers, tribes. Murders among lovers, merely for knowing a different sight. Once you get hold of a god, you can't stop, they are forever addicting. Forever in my mind.

Fear.

That is what the gods bring to Aphrodite. A soul untainted yet by the fever of sight that brings all the other Malu to anguish. She cannot see the beauty in this unchosen religion. To her it is all pain, suffering, and foolish antics.

Long ago Aphrodite lay comforted and innocent in the girth of her mother. Times were to change. For her father and mother were of two different nations. Love was not what she thought it was, and it turned into danger. Mother sent her away, or rather left with her brother from that other tribe. Mother was tired of the raging fits that Father went through, and so discardment was the only choice for Aphrodite. She was torn from her mother by kin, and taken far out. Sheltered from the watching eyes of the gods.

Always watching. I watched them. Mother and Father. They came, both of them, to try to instill me to come back. All they gave me was fear. I knew what the gods were doing to them, I didn't want them to do it to me.

The gods are not bad, they give the Malu society, or so it is said. Each one grants power, keeps the nation strong, but it can also tear them apart. Aphrodite was torn with her parents. A father that brutally beat and murdered her mother, and kin that were proud to step in. It was this she vowed to escape and so on the edge of the world she prayed against abandoned gods. Never again to have a religion. . .

Until the day she sought to return.

Her feet will once again rest upon Malu ground, but will a god take her, or is her mind far to tainted by anguish to keep another? Will her fears chase her away before the can gain the gift, the curse? Or will it be the Malu that destroy her effigy, and persist onto her? Kinship is not strong where there is no relation. . .

[insert A Home Far Away banner here]

As you may have guessed, Aphrodite does not live in the grounds of the Oasis. Rather she finds a battered existence on the edge of this world, avoiding others if at all possible. There are times when food and water are so scarce that she must come in and either steal or beg for such comodities from 'the others'.

Where exactly is this place of hers?

Its a well kept secret, forged out by the older Malu of her kin. It is not known quite why this particular grouping of Malu struck out against the sands to move away from the temple, but Aphrodite believes it was because of the turmoil in her family. They had no thoughts of staying there, but they needed to get Aphrodite away from the batterings of life within. They had no idea of the consequences which would later befall such an innocent creature.

There is a portion of the oasis that remains untouched. It is not a very good bit, mind you, but there is enough water to sustain life for a period of time and enough food to keep at least her alive. Any other Malu and it would become a death sentence for all those that wished to live there.

Aphrodite calls this place, 'The Sands of Time'. She believes (however untrue it is) that this is her birth place. Where the blood of her kin was spilled another was born anew to right the mistakes of the past. It is her belief that it gave her the double wings which no other Malu she has yet seen possess.
