My flatmates bought a rat each and since then I've had a sort of one-track mind.

I am putting these up, not just for you to take a looksee at, but to get some help with that last one there. Now, you can see that I drew these in an order book at work but I want to make the last one a proper picture.

One of the rats, called Rose, is an albino with lovely pink eyes and I want to drew her sort of beatrix potter style in a wedding dress. Trouble is, I'm pretty much terrible at drawing cartoon animals! Any advice or tutorials oh wise ones?

And lastly, I thought I'd tag this on because I really like it and I just whipped it up out of nowhere last night. It's a self portrait. I wish I'd made the coat more whooshy at the bottom but I still like it!

One track indeed. But, all things considered, not too bad a thing to get all broken-record about. Rats can be pretty adorable.

As for that last one, I'm not sure. I've never been good at cartoonish drawings, they always go lopsided on me. :]
But, maybe adjust the width of the shoulders? Rat arms come out towards the front, so it's almost like you kept the shoulders the same but plucked off the front legs and pinned them her sides. So maybe sacrifice some of the realistic proportions and slim off some of the breadth of her shoulders?
Ack, I gave it a shot. ;]
I have to say I love that dress, as a little add on. Way too cute to be real. ^^

Ohh, and that coat in your self-portrait-
It's gorgeous, and so many little detail-bits-!
Very nice.

I loooooooooooooooove rats. D:

I've had three pet rats, and they were all sooo darling. Definitely my favourite kind of pet. So cuddly and cute... wahh. e_e

Anyway! I'm not sure how your rat looks, but I don't think it'd hurt to add a bit more plumpness to the face, belly and limbs. It looks a bit too scrawny. XD If it's actually that scrawny, then... feed it more!

A bit more detail in the paws would be nice. They have such cute little paws but the ones in your pictures look all sharp and scribbly. xb

This totally makes me want to draw rats. heart

D'aw, they're so cute. xDD Makes me want to go get Rayne out and cuddle her.
Anyways..

I completely agree with Sign-Up, the shoulders really throws it off. IF a rat were to stand up on it's hind legs, cartoon or not, it would be very thin, with little shoulder width.
