There is magic in everything. Magic is life. And everything has a bit of life in in: if you make something, or do something, your dedication and hard work and the effort you put into it give it a little bit of your own life. So, there would be ambient magic for just about everything.
Clothes! Weapons!
Ooohh! What if there was ambient magic magic? Like, you know how ambient magic is using the magic that's already in stuff? Since magic is life and everything has a bit of life in it, everything has a bit of magic, right? What if instead of having ambient magic that was focused on any one thing, you had ambient magic that drew on ALL magic? And ambient magic mage would be the greatest mage to ever live!

I think carpentry magic is cool, it's like and extension of green magic. I was so thrilled when Daja and Frostpine left and we found out about that one in Cold Fire. The Cooking was cool too... as was the moving meditation... now look at me I'm getting off topic. Wax maybe... Candles are rather important for lighting and an ambient mage with talents for wax could get the candle to burn brighter and last longer so poor people wouldn't have to waste money for light to work buy.

Ambient magic magic... That ones got my head spinning...
Maybe magic based on emotions? Like, able to control peoples souls or something? Would that be classified as 'dark ambient magic' or something?
Poison too... All the good dark things...

I think ambient magic with things like clay or rock they could be used to help build things.

i think maybe darkness and light... food would also be an interesting little ability... i definitely think that ink and art in general would be very amazing.

Shadow magic has always been a favorite of mine. being able to use the natural darkness to create protect or travel would be cool.
I'd also like to see animal magic in Emelan. Maybe not to Daine's level but it would still be cool.
And Ooooo..... what about Death magic? influening souls, speaking to the dead, etc... that would be interesting.
