Think what you're looking for are tables of correspondences. Works on the old principles of sympathetic magic. If you've ever seen things like stones/candles/oils or other items in a shop with captions that say things like "For (insert random virtue here)" thats what correspondences are. Things that over the centuries have been shown to strike particular cords in the human mind. A few good examples could be like Red=Love, but at the same time Red=Anger. Funny how a lot of objects have opposing things associated with them. If you'd like I'll try and find some good correspondence tables online.

Of course, what the correspondences are depends to some extent on what system you're studying. For example, a set of correspondences based on Taoism might place Anger under the color green. I always counsel being aware of the system you're studying, and remaining aware that, when all's said and done, it's just a *system*. If you find that some aspects of a system just aren't working for you, find what does (hint: it probably will come directly from your own practice instead of a book). Much like the pursuit of enlightenment, anything that promises to show you all the aspects/secrets of magic is just one person's way of viewing it. It probably won't match your experience exactly.
