I have this friend, and, he believes that there is a God, but for some reason he thinks God hates him. I guess it's because he has had a hard life. I have tried to tell him about God, and his gift, but he says it just makes him depressed and he won't talk about it. I don't know what to do. i feel somewhat responsible for his outcome. I don't think that God has put him in my path so that i can sit here and watch him pave his way into hell, yet, i don't know what to tell him. I'm so confused, i wish i could help him but hope seems lost and he is so depressed all the time and blaming God for it. Not to mention(he might have been lying), he says that he's stolen some stuff and that he's training in martial arts so that he can get revenge on all the people who have hurt him. He is obviusly in deep pain and i am trying to hold out my hand and sympathize but i don't know how to do that without sharing the love of Jesus with him. But, when i try to do that, he gets mad and doesn't talk to me for a while. Does someone have any words of wisdom they would like to share? Has anyone been in this situation? If so, how did you handle it? I just need help, and i need it fast. This guy isn't getting any younger.

help from xanduran would be nice. biggrin

why me in particular?? 0.o

anyway, i think that even though he finds talking about God hard, you should still do it, maybe not as much as you have, just edge it into conversations with LOTS of personal things like things God has done for you/your frineds(not personal-personal but things you have seen or experienced)

This might open him up, but most of all, make sure you pray for him, continually, if he feels the love of an awesome God in his life, he is very likely to respond, it would take an extremely arrogant person to reject what is being offered, and if the Lord wants them, they would have to be EXTREMELY persistant not to change, i know, but just pray and talk to him, not directly about God, but base all your conversations on Christianity.

Hope thats helpful.//. sweatdrop

Remember the story of Esther. She was afraid to say anything to the king, because she was afraid for her life. But she knew that if she said nothing to him, her family would die. So she mustered the courage and said something, at the risk of her own life. Of course everything turned out ok because God was on her side. God is on your side too, Dancer. And he is an unstoppable God that will see his will to be done. He just needs willing people like you. Just keep trying, and don't give up. Show him love, and be willing to be a servant. What you are doing is the work of God, and you will be praised for it one day in heaven.
