you know i don't really know... O.O
I think that's the way Ria High had it set up, and when i created the guild i was modeling it after Ria to begin with... *shrugs*
plus i think its kinda like a first reward, something for them to strive towards. And that way we know they're gonna stick around if they managed to make it to sophomore level, so there won't be an excess of useless dorm threads.

Hmmmm.... Well. I guess that sort of makes sense. But wouldn't it also make sense to have off campus living as a reward for making it to sophomore?

We can rework that when we redo everything. I'm in the process of tweaking the rewards vs grade level thing at the moment.

In Ria, everyone had a dorm, they just didn't get their own thread to post in. They had their own dorm but had to use the public thread (male or female) to access it.
When you earned enough stars, you actually got to make your own thread so your room could have a set description and your posts in it wouldn't be lost in everyone else's.
I actually thought that was how it worked here too. xD -needs to read better- I'll agree that I don't think it makes sense to banish freshmen to an off campus inn. So I think that'd be a nice thing to alter after tweaking is done. o wo

I like Spazz' thinking! Plus, inns typically only have a certain number of rooms. If you get a flood of freshmen and graduates waiting to get a house/dorm.... Plus after the job system is enacted, things would probably cost money- meaning a freshmen whom just joined wouldn't have enough to rent a room for the duration of their first year.... So if you stayed with that method, then, wouldn't it make more sense to have the inn as a common-house instead? How exactly does this school work? I'd love to know, in detail.
Do you need seat arrangement charts for classrooms or grading charts and student rosters? Because I know just a way to make them if you can get me the name (of all) of the students and the current curriculum.
How do classes work anyway?

Yea the froshies not having a dorm is a little weird. I was thinking of changing to to maybe, say 20 credits? Is that a low enough goal? Cause if they make their 15 posts, they get an instant 15 credits, leaving just 5 more to work for before they can get a dorm. That way they dont make a tread and then just leave the guild.
The thing CG is the guild isn't completely focused on being a "school". Its far more open and free form than that. I want there to be plenty of options for the members to do and participate in, but I don't want them to be mandatory. They can pick and choose and participate as little or as much as they like, and take their time rping or leveling up. Its mostly just supposed to be a fun place to come, especially since a lot of our members have very busy IRL situations now.

I have another question, and no clue if its been answered before, but anyway... If you become a sophomore or above and create another character, then what grade are they? I'm confused on that subject.

You're grade level applies to you yourslef, not your individual characters. So they in theory could be anything up to what your main character is.
