I was just on launchcast on yahoo, and I was rating the songs on ATASF, and it said THIS:

Label: Nitro
Genres: Emo
That made me mad.
I just wanted to tell you.
I think I should complain.

Wow...the emo part doesn't make me mad.....just how incredibly off they are....nowhere even near emo......

If you look, it says all of their CDs are emo.
I agree that EVERYTHING is emo, because when you write lyrics, there is usually an emotion that the words are coming from.
But the stereotypical genre of emo...
AFI is definately NOT.
People these days.
I wish we could tell them something.

Yes... people give emo a bad name. But get giving it that name dosen;t justify anything because all it's saying is emotion....HELLO, everything has emotion..... A.F.I doesn't deserve a certain lable...... just rock.

A.F.I has stated that they don't want to be pushed into any particular genre...just merely a rock band...thats all I meant. Which is true, you know that. BUt they do have their own genre

Yeah... I almost mauled some guy when I was at Tekko 1/2 (Halfway to Tekkoshocon) who saw my purse (AFI, but also covered in AIF patches) and was saying how emo they've always been, and such, but he thinks they're first release was Sing the Sorrow, and thought that was what I was talking about when I said "Their older stuff". He also called me a liar when I told him that they formed in 1991... rolleyes
