|You have just been punjabbed|
(I thought this would be the most fitting place for the thread, if not please move it.)
My school guidance counselor and I were discussing homophobia and she compared homophobia to paranoia, meaning that if you are homophobic you neither choose it nor will ever get over it.
Frankly, I thought it was a bunch of bull. People have gotten past homophobia. The homophobes how haven't got past it choose to continue thinking with a narrow perspective of sexuality.
Moreover, how does this apply to transphobia, biphobia and heterophobia? Is it all the same thing?
I personally think that people who are brought up with hate may continue that, not because they can't get past the hate, but because they are unwilling to see past what they know.
