my mother has cancer. lymphoma. they may have to remove her spleen, and/or she'll have to do chemotherapy. i don't know how to react to this, but since I got home I've been kind of randomly on and off crying. there are no words for how bad I feel right now, but I'm trying to stay strong for my mom because breaking down all the time won't really help her. I don't know what to dooo.

I'm not quite sure what that means?I asked my dad. We don't know if it has. It's the lympatic system, which pretty much gives a high risk for that to happen, but my mom's getting a PET scan next week that should tell us.

I was reading a site or two, but I couldn't find anything explicitly for splenic lymphoma. One site did say that better treatments have come out for lymphomas in the last ten years, though.

It's not splenic. gonk It's just making her spleen screw up.
And the spleen..well it's sorta important, but as an adult, (my mom was telling me this, she's an operating room nurse) the body can compensate for the loss.

About two years ago my Grandmother had cancer. She pased on, it had already matastisized when they found it. I know you don't want to hear this but if she can't better, it might just be more humane for her to go on from you.
