Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I didn't, but I've heard "horror stories" about girls who have. Personally, I think it's got a lot to do with how "rough" it is. I've only lost my virginity once, so I haven't been able to really study it thoroughly. whee

It depends on the most part on the presence of the Hymen or how ever that peice of female anatomy is spelt.
If you're a Virgin, and you have a Hymen, chances are you will bleed when you lose your virginity.
However, girls who participate in physical activities such as Gymnastics, Dancing or rough sports may lose their hyman due to ..doing the splits or what ever it is girls do.
In some countries it's common practice on the night of marriage for the husband to bed his wife on white sheets, in the morning the sheets are inspected for blood, if there is none, he is within legal rights to kill his wife.
Horrible how ones life, and if or if not they bleed at the loss of virginity is dependant on that one little peice of flesh.

Actually...dancing, gymnastics and other sports won't affect the hymen, unless there is trauma to the crotch (owie!) like skateboarding a rail and crotching it-- even that is highly unlikely. Tampons might, tho. I'm a ER nurse, btw. I actually worked a shift where we repaired a girl's hymen after a rape, because she was from one of THOSE cultures...
