Many things could be considered frightening, and indeed Malady was frightened by many things. Fortunately her memory of these things often failed her. So when the odd merle had woken that morning beside a pit of sinking sand she hardly remembered anything at all. Pups, Kes, and the many terrifying things that dewelled upon packlands were momentarily displaced.
Snorting she walked low to the ground with her head tilted towards the ground. Her nose caused sand to spray a short distance as she exhalled. Inhaling was another matter. As tiny bits of sand shot up her nose she snorted and fell over backwards. Often she found the most unusual things up her nose, but the sensation bothered her to quite an extent.
Wiggling on her back she pawed at her nose and sneazed until she was sure it was out, or more accurately until she forgot what she'd even done.
Still on her back with her feet kicking upwards to the sky she shook her head from side to side while her tongue lolled out. Sand was fun! As it dug into her fur and spread everywhere the small female failed to notice the added itch. Her body always felt the need to be scratched. What more harm could sand do?
Purple eye closed and tongue flicking up at the end as she panted Malady glanced at the world upsidedown through her green eye. Kes. That was right. She needed to find Kes. No--wait. She'd already found Kes. Where'd she go again?
Oh look a squirrel.
Wait. A SQUIRREL! Shrieking with utmost fear Malady dove behind the nearest rock were she proceded to flail on the ground and stare madly at a bush.

SQUIRREL!!!!
Her blood began running quickly through her veins as she smelled then spotted a rather plump squirrel. That meant it was slow, right? Instantly she darted after it, her paws spraying up waves of dirt as she attempted to gain some serious speed.
And.. okay, so she wasn't quite over the squirrels thing. So what. You couldn't really blame her. They were so darn--
"TASTEY!" Kishia cried, bursting out of a bush in a frenzy in order to get at the squirrel. She noticed another wolf around there, and she snapped at the other. "MY SQUIRREL, YOU WENCH." And then she proceeded to bark at the squirrel--which by now was up a tree and hiding somewhere in a hole like a little pansy--and jump up and down a the base of a rather large tree.
"Come down, pretty little tastey~Kishie won't hurt yooouuuu..." A total lie, but the squirrel didn't know that.

What the squirrel didn't know Malady would probably never figure out on her own. No matter how many times something happened to her she'd likely always forget. So after the initial shock and spazisms of seeing another wolf, especially another crazy one, Mal crawled foreward on her belly and stared at the blue wolf with her eyes wide and her mouth gaping open.
As the other wolf jumped up and down Malady absently found herself doing the same, although she wasn't sure why exactly.
"Keel its!" She shrieked when she saw the squirrel once more.

Unaware of the other wolf at first, the crazy blue continued her antics. She snarled and jumped up and down at the base of the tree, her claws attempting to get a good hold on the bark of the tree. Damn that squirrel! Why was it hiding? It should just come down and fight like a real wild creature!!
Yet upon hearing the encouraging yell from behind her, she took a moment to glance back over her shoulder. What the hell was that? Blinking, she noticed Malady for the first time. What the...? When in the world did this wolf show up and what in the hell was she saying? Focusing her ears towards the other, she forgot about the squirrel. One of the many wonders of being crazy, she supposed.
"What?" she asked, tilting her head and coming down onto all four of her paws. Her hind legs hurt, and she immediately sat down without even thinking. Who was she to argue with them if they wanted to rest?
"Keeel? Are you of crazy?" she asked, thinking this wolf might be a bit off her rocker. After all, she was speaking this crazy language.

Malady was always so awefully confused that she found herself completely unaware of whether she was crazy or not. Certainly she must be, but wasn't it justified when it came to squirrels?
She wasn't sure.
Crouched low to the ground she gazed through widely curious eyes from the blue wolf to the squirrel.
"You is keepin' its then?" How horrible. She knew she'd never want to keep one. Dead or alive.

Kishia tilted her head and blinked, looking very much like a bird as she did so. What was this wolf talking about? Such strange language... she must have been stupid. Yes, stupid. That's what she was.
"Stupid you," she commented, right then and there dubbing the wolf Stupid. That was her name now. That's what Kish would call her and nothing else. Stupid. It had a nice ring to it, she thought.
"Keeping it's of me, then yes," she stated plainly, glancing back up at the squirrel. Or... where the squirrel had been. That pesky thing must have snuck off while she was occupied with this new wolf. Stupid. Ah well, there were plenty of others. Plus, she could always use Stupid. Stupid could hunt squirrels without killing them, right?
Blinking, she flicked her tail and sat down. Stupid would be a good asset to have.
"Hunting you of squirrels live?" she asked curiously, her hind paw reaching up to scratch at an itch behind her ear.
"Telling."

The omega nodded, as if with complete understanding. It did, after all, make complete sense.
"Nope nope. Stupid is not of huntings squirrels. Thems is huntings of Stupid. Stupid is eatings not of squirrels live." Her was obvious Stupid. But that didn't bother her since she seemed to have many other names as well.
Keeping low to the ground she glanced fearfully around. She wished there was some loose ground or a hole she could stick her head in. Just talking about squirrels was enough to upset her mind.
But then again, she was afraid of the dark too.

"Ah!" the blue wolf exclaimed, her tail whirling behind her.
Finally someone she could actually make sense of! Other wolves talked weird and spoke in a strange way. It was always hard for her to make out quite what they were trying to communicate to her. But this wolf! Oh, she was smart. Before, she had talked rather strange--although really she hadn't talked any different than now--and now she was completely understandable. What a strange wolf. She probably didn't know how to speak until she herself had spoken first. That must have been it.
"Oh?" she inquired, her brows shooting up. "Squirrels is of being hunting Stupid. Good that is? No, no, no. Is that of not good!" she cried, frowning slightly. "Not good."
As the other wolf glanced around almost fearfully, Kishia tilted her head almost completely sideways. "Doing is what?" she asked. There wasn't anyone else around, and the squirrels seemed to have left.
"Scaring away, squirrels, sheesh."
