I really don't think either are worth buying...
The first game just felt like "a story that wasn't worth animating", if you know what I mean...
The second one was a little better but it took too many concepts out of the series... It's like.... Have you ever rented a video game that was based on a movie, and it was exactly LIKE the movie? That's kind of what the first few chapters of Game 2 are like -_-
Both were really easy to boot
Neither really give you the same feeling as the series, it certainly wont make you a bigger fan -_- If you must play one then I suggest the second, it's more for your money.
My personal ratings (10 being the greatest):
1st game: 5/10
2nd game: 7/10

I actually played the games before actually watching the series (borrowed them from a friend). I think the first game was a little bit harder, but the second one just seemed to go a lot smoother as far as the plot goes.
I think renting them would be a good idea, but buying them...not so much. You can beat em both in about 4 or 5 days, and after you beat it there's not much left to do.

the first game was ok. I played it cuz i try to get my hands on anything fma affiliated so i played also cuz i'm such an fma otaku whee the second was way better. It followed thw series (kind of) the tweaked it a bit to follow a different route. I thought it was so funny as well. In the first there was a lot of dialog to read. WAY too much. in the second, it was all narratored with the voice actors and they had some hiarious scenes! i love hearing vic, travis, aaron, colleen, mike, etc!!! xd blaugh SOOO much better than the first. The game for the DS follows the series and contains spoilers so if u haven't finished the anime, be warned. The minigames are way fun. And i believ there's a 3rd game coming out. It;s already out in japan (duh) sweatdrop
