Some of the churches were pushing the last couple of years out here (in the country - mich) to not let your kids go out for Halloween, instead go to some stupid church party were you could sit around and read scripture... sweatdrop I'm sorry, i don't mean to get down on religon, but this is our tradition, and if i want to read scripture, i can do that any night can't i? xp

I don't see the problem with Halloween, really. Granted, it's also the same day as Samhain, but so what? Doesn't hallow mean holy? Where's the church's problem with that? Other than possibly that it's not their version of holy... eek Don't mind me and my rambling.

Well from what i understand the church gave the people "all Saints day" to replace Samhain. Only that didn't really work, the people had it too ingrained in them that this is the night that the fairy mounds open, and spirits can walk the earth. and when traditions are observed for generations, no matter how much you repect the church, you still have that feeling of doing what you always do in your traditions.
So the people just went on with Samhain, and as years passed i guess children begged for candy on this night, trying to make people think they were spirits and needed treats to placate them (awe cute little devils) and the adults gave them treats, cause no one likes an unhappy spirit...
... Am i rambilng?
But yeah, wrecking everyones fun because you think the night is "unholy" is an oxymoron, because the church already told the people they can have their fun, because the fairy mounds don't really open on that night, cause there are no fairy mounds!

I adore Halloween!
But you see I have a proplem I have no one to do anything with crying
Tis like soooo depressing..
Well more like the people I was going ot go with one doesn;t want to do anythnig and the other isn;t allowed to come down to my house...
