A dusty looking creature moved along contently through the savannah. The maned wolf had gained his weight back since getting lost in these caves a long time ago, and looked normal and healthy, and, as it was near impossible to find him another way, happy.
Fumbi was a simple creature, and no matter what the occasion, there was always one thing stamped in his mind; love. Not that he had a mate, or any companion, and for lack of meeting others, he didn't have friends. But he loved everything, anything. Life was worth living, to the male, everything was worth doing, and even though it seemed stupid, he'd more likely lick and snuggle an attacker than fight back.
Of course he hunted and killed, like any carnivore, and not perfect, he upset things, wich was probably one of the reasons why he had ended up in some caves to start with. He had been chased off, maybe because his pack hadn't a nice, friendly place, and he had been a bit to positive.
Yet now, a happy idiot Fumbi was. And here he was, trotting along the savannah after eating a plump hare.

It was at the border of the pridelands where Ukilia had met the kind lioness that took her in as a newborn, left behind by her mother in an attempt to protect her child.
While tragic, it was also of no consequence to the little one, whom as far as she had known, had always been Tai's daughter. ((All of four weeks.)) Nevermind the fundamental differences in species, their pelts were SORT of the same, right? And Tai had always treated Ukilia like her own family, even given her the name Ukilia, "purpose", she said it meant! The little she-wolf was more than happy to have a mother like Tai, she was darn downright proud!
Now, why was it that despite that Ukilia could never stay put like she was asked? Her mother told her simply not to leave the Pridelands, that it was more dangerous beyond the border of the pride's protection. And, well, ultimately Ukilia didn't -mean- to disobey, it just sort of...
Happened.
It -always- just sort of....... happened!
The young grayscale colored puppy was busying herself in stalking a fuzzy crawler atop of a rotting log, eyes glued to the little bug as it inched ever so slowly towards a hole in the wood, wanting to escape the crazy pup on it's tail. Ukilia did nothing more than stalk her target in curious silence with a stare that would make any adult uneasy. It was a mischief maker's gaze, oh dear.

The pup wasn't so far off in the maned wolfs couse, and if anything living was spotted, the course was certain to change, as was the case.
Purple eyes caught sight of the pup, and a tail began to wag. Company was all in the male's mind as he whisked into that direction, dusty looking tail waving side to side like a banner, ears foreward and a smile on a face.
"Helloo! "
Fumbi liked company. :]

A small yip came back in answer as Ukilia lifted her head, looking to the stranger curiously. She gazed at him with orange eyes as she faced him atop her play-thing, tilting her head to the side...
"Hello.... Who are you?"

Little puppies were always so cute, that was so neat! And they played too! This one looked like it was playing! Maybe he could play too. Oh, how grown up Fumbi was. He half layed down to be at a better eye level with the pup, tail up and wagging.
"I'm Fumbi! Who're you? You're bugs getting away. " He changed the subject quickly, introductions were qite boring afterall. Instead, he pointed with his nose towards the thing as it moved towards a hole.

"Ukili-- what? HEY!" The pup had begun introducing herself just to be cut short, and turning her attention back realized Fumbi was right. She pounced after the little insect and landed on the ground with a great thump. The bug took his opprotunity to skitter away underneath the log, leaving Ukilia dazed where she fell.
She whimpered, ears flattening, her attention shifting back to the new comer with big glassy eyes.
"It's gone!"
