Seriously, think about it. They say they don't have the time to spend on making a demo for the game, yet for the past few years and even few weeks they've been showing off playable demos behind closed doors for the media. Hell, they even had a big media event in select theaters so gamers can go play the game. What's that? They're giving us crap saying they don't have the time to make one, yet they're spending good time and effort showing off the game left and right. The game sounds solid considering what I've heard from Joystiq, with exclusions of some bugs. It's a demo though, bugs are going to be present regardless.

Epic is throwing some Grade-A crap at us just for more hype.

Well a demo requires a lot more work than just taking their game places to show it off. They have to figure out the best way to include everything about the game that they think will sell while still keeping the file size from skull screwing both your HD and the Live bandwidth. Not only that but in every demo released they run the risk of decreasing sales due to bugs in the demo, which most people assume are part of the game, seeing as how most people think demos are just simply parts of the finished game, and not in particular parts of the game that have been modified for demo version.

Besides, many games don't have demos untill a few days before or during the launch of the game anyway.

Well, Xbox 360 had 25% of the market demand. The $400 system sold for an average of $1700 at a high point of $2500. The average Gamestop got 20 units, he average Target got 30, and most other retail stores got about 25.

My store is getting 8. Count 'em, 8. My friends that work at Target think they'll be getting around 12-15. Sony has 50% of the market.

That's twice the demand and less than half the supply as the 360, and the PS3 is a $600 system.

My boss also played Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3) and said it was pretty damn fun. Nearly as much fun as Gears of War he said.

ya i played Resistance and some other PS3 games at TGS but its nothing i'm gonna spend $600 on when i have a 360 already because a good number of the really good games are cross-platform with no difference, and most of the sony games that are big guns aren't gonna be out for a while so i'm in no rush.

But they've already done just that. They've created a demo which they've used numerous times to show off the best aspect of the game. The size of the demo may be a problem, yes, but they're still slinging crap at us. They've shown a playable version numerous times and have gotten nothing but good press on it with exception of a few bad words regarding some bugs.

You want to know why?

Right now, everyone wants the game. They don't know how it plays but they will buy it because of hype and everyone else is.

If there is a demo released, some of these people will realize "Hey, I don't really like this play style! It's not as fun as it looked in the videos. I'm not going to buy it." That's why you see demos released AFTER the game is out. It's all to get as much sales in the first while as possible. A demo could just decrease sales because some people will realize they don't like it.

It's all about the money. Every sale counts.
